"Yet you, his son,Belshazzar,have not humbledyour heart,eventhoughyou knewallthis,
Moreover, he did not humblehimself beforethe LORDas his fatherManassehhad done,but Amonmultipliedguilt.
He didevilin the sightof the LORDhis God;he did not humblehimself beforeJeremiahthe prophetwho spokefor the LORD.
I will also speakof Your testimoniesbeforekingsAnd shall not be ashamed.
Mosesand Aaronwentto Pharaohand saidto him, "Thussaysthe LORD,the Godof the Hebrews,'Howlongwill you refuseto humbleyourself beforeMe? LetMy peoplego,that they may serveMe.
Thus I will punishthe worldfor its evilAnd the wickedfor their iniquity;I will also putan endto the arroganceof the proudAnd abasethe haughtinessof the ruthless.
"But you saidin your heart,I will ascendto heaven;I will raisemy throneabovethe starsof God,And I will siton the mountof assemblyIn the recessesof the north.
[Though] the wickedis shownfavor,He does not learnrighteousness;He dealsunjustlyin the landof uprightness,And does not perceivethe majestyof the LORD.
"O king,the MostHighGodgrantedsovereignty,grandeur,gloryand majestyto Nebuchadnezzaryour father.
For Johnhad been sayingto him, "It is not lawfulfor you to haveher."
"For Johncameto you in the wayof righteousnessand you did not believehim; but the tax collectorsand prostitutesdid believehim; and you, seeing[this], did not evenfeel remorseafterwardso as to believehim.
"And that slavewho knewhis master'swilland did not get readyoractin accordwith his will, willreceivemanylashes,
"Ifyou knowthese things,you are blessedifyou dothem.
Therefore,to one who knows[the] right thingto doand does not doit, to him it is sin.
But He givesa greatergrace.Therefore[it] says,"GODIS OPPOSEDTO THE PROUD,BUT GIVESGRACETO THE HUMBLE."
