Now Elishaspoketo the womanwhosesonhe had restoredto life,saying,"Ariseand gowith your household,and sojournwhereveryou can sojourn;for the LORDhas calledfor a famine,and it will evencomeon the landfor sevenyears."
Now there was a faminein the land;so Abramwentdownto Egyptto sojournthere,for the faminewas severein the land.
Now there was a faminein the land,besidesthe previousfaminethat had occurredin the daysof Abraham.So Isaacwentto Gerar,to Abimelechkingof the Philistines.
Now Josephsaidto Pharaoh,"Pharaoh'sdreamsare one[and the same]; Godhas toldto PharaohwhatHe is about to do.

Now Elijahthe Tishbite,who was of the settlersof Gilead,saidto Ahab,"As the LORD,the Godof Israellives,beforewhomI stand,surelythere shall be neitherdewnor raintheseyears,exceptby my word."
So Elijahwentto showhimself to Ahab.Now the famine[was] severein Samaria.
When the childwas grown,the daycamethat he wentout to his fatherto the reapers.
He calledGehaziand said,"CallthisShunammite."So he calledher. And when she camein to him, he said,"Takeup your son."
When Elishareturnedto Gilgal,[there was] a faminein the land.As the sonsof the prophetswere sittingbeforehim, he saidto his servant,"Puton the largepotand boilstewfor the sonsof the prophets."
And soit happenedto him, for the peopletrampledon him at the gateand he died.
So the womanaroseand didaccording to the wordof the manof God,and she wentwith her householdand sojournedin the landof the Philistinessevenyears.
And He calledfor a famineupon the land;He brokethe wholestaffof bread.
A fruitfullandinto a saltwaste,Becauseof the wickednessof those who dwellin it.
"For behold,I am beginningto workcalamityin [this] citywhichis calledby My name,and shall you be completelyfreefrom punishment?You will not be freefrom punishment;for I am summoninga swordagainstallthe inhabitantsof the earth,"declaresthe LORDof hosts.'
When I breakyour staffof bread,tenwomenwill bakeyour breadin oneoven,and they will bringbackyour breadin rationedamounts,so that you will eatand not be satisfied.
"But I gaveyou alsocleannessof teethin allyour citiesAnd lackof breadin allyour places,Yet you have not returnedto Me," declaresthe LORD.
"I calledfor a droughton the land,on the mountains,on the grain,on the newwine,on the oil,on whatthe groundproduces,on men,on cattle,and on allthe laborof your hands."
and there will be greatearthquakes,and in variousplacesplaguesand famines;and there will be terrorsand greatsignsfrom heaven.
becausetheseare daysof vengeance,so that all thingswhich are writtenwill be fulfilled.
"But I sayto you in truth,there were manywidowsin Israelin the daysof Elijah,whenthe skywas shutup for threeyearsand sixmonths,whena greatfaminecameoverallthe land;
Oneof them namedAgabusstoodup and [began] to indicateby the Spiritthat there would certainlybe a greatfaminealloverthe world.And thistook placein the [reign] of Claudius.
Now it cameabout in the dayswhen the judgesgoverned,that there was a faminein the land.And a certain manof Bethlehemin Judahwentto sojournin the landof Moabwith his wifeand his twosons.
