So they poured[it] out for the mento eat.And as they were eatingof the stew,they criedout and said,"O manof God,there is deathin the pot."And they were unableto eat.
When Jacobhad cookedstew,Esaucamein from the fieldand he was famished;
So she saidto Elijah,"Whatdo I have to do with you, O manof God?You have cometo me to bringmy iniquityto remembranceand to putmy sonto death!"
So he againsentto him anothercaptainof fiftywith his fifty.And he saidto him, "O manof God,thussaysthe king,'Comedownquickly.'"
So he againsentthe captainof a thirdfiftywith his fifty.When the thirdcaptainof fiftywentup, he cameand boweddownon his kneesbeforeElijah,and beggedhim and saidto him, "O manof God,pleaselet my lifeand the livesof thesefiftyservantsof yours be preciousin your sight.
Then [the king] sentto him a captainof fiftywith his fifty.And he wentup to him, and behold,he was sittingon the topof the hill.And he saidto him, "O manof God,the kingsays,'Comedown.'"
Then onewentout into the fieldto gatherherbs,and founda wildvineand gatheredfrom it his lapfullof wildgourds,and cameand slicedthem into the potof stew,for they did not know[what they were].
She saidto her husband,"Beholdnow,I perceivethat thisis a holymanof Godpassingby us continually.
"Nowtherefore, pleaseforgivemy sinonlythisonce,and makesupplicationto the LORDyour God,that He would onlyremovethisdeathfrom me."
When they cameto Marah,they couldnot drinkthe watersof Marah,for they were bitter;thereforeit was namedMarah.
they will pickup serpents,and ifthey drinkanydeadly[poison], it will not hurtthem; they will layhandson the sick,and they will recover."
Now thisis the blessingwith whichMosesthe manof Godblessedthe sonsof Israelbeforehis death.
