ThenRezinkingof Aramand Pekahsonof Remaliah,kingof Israel,cameup to Jerusalemto [wage] war;and they besiegedAhaz,but couldnot overcomehim.
Abijahand his peopledefeatedthem with a greatslaughter,so that 500,000chosenmenof Israelfellslain.
and he wentout to meetAsaand saidto him, "Listento me, Asa,and allJudahand Benjamin:the LORDis with you when you are with Him. And ifyou seekHim, He will let you findHim; but ifyou forsakeHim, He will forsakeyou.
So EdomrevoltedagainstJudahto thisday.ThenLibnahrevoltedat the sametimeagainsthis rule,becausehe had forsakenthe LORDGodof his fathers.
And Zichri,a mightymanof Ephraim,slewMaaseiahthe king'ssonand Azrikamthe rulerof the houseand Elkanahthe secondto the king.
Becausethey turnedasidefrom followingHim, And hadnoregardfor anyof His ways;
But transgressorswill be altogetherdestroyed;The posterityof the wickedwill be cutoff.
But transgressorsand sinnerswill be crushedtogether,And those who forsakethe LORDwill cometo an end.
Your menwill fallby the swordAnd your mightyonesin battle.
Now it cameabout in the daysof Ahaz,the sonof Jotham,the sonof Uzziah,kingof Judah,that Rezinthe kingof Aramand Pekahthe sonof Remaliah,kingof Israel,wentup to Jerusalemto [wage] waragainstit, but couldnot conquerit.
and the headof Ephraimis Samariaand the headof Samariais the sonof Remaliah.Ifyou will not believe,you surelyshall not last."'"

"Your own wickednesswill correctyou, And your apostasieswill reproveyou; Knowtherefore and seethat it is eviland bitterFor you to forsakethe LORDyour God,And the dreadof Me is not in you," declaresthe LordGODof hosts.
beforeyour wickednesswas uncovered,sonowyou have become the reproachof the daughtersof Edomand of allwho are aroundher, of the daughtersof the Philistines--those surrounding[you] who despiseyou.
"But it shall comeabout, ifyou do not obeythe LORDyour God,to observeto doallHis commandmentsand His statuteswith whichI chargeyou today,that allthesecurseswill comeupon you and overtakeyou:
"The LORDshall causeyou to be defeatedbeforeyour enemies;you will goout onewayagainstthem, but you will fleesevenwaysbeforethem, and you will be [an example of] terrorto allthe kingdomsof the earth.
"Then He said,'I will hideMy facefrom them, I will seewhattheir end[shall be]; For they are a perversegeneration,Sonsin whom is nofaithfulness.
"When you transgressthe covenantof the LORDyour God,whichHe commandedyou, and goand serveothergodsand bowdownto them, then the angerof the LORDwill burnagainst you, and you will perishquicklyfrom offthe goodlandwhichHe has givenyou."
