And coming he dwelt in a city called Nazareth: that it might be fulfilled which was said by prophets: That he shall be called a Nazarene.
And when he was come into Jerusalem, the whole city was moved, saying: Who is this?
If we shall say, from heaven, he will say to us: Why then did you not believe him? But if we shall say, from men, we are afraid of the multitude: for all held John as a prophet.
And seeking to lay hands on him, they feared the multitudes: because they held him as a prophet.
And others said: It is Elias. But others said: It is a prophet, as one of the prophets.
Nevertheless I must walk to day and to morrow, and the day following, because it cannot be that a prophet perish, out of Jerusalem.

And they asked him, and said to him: Why then dost thou baptize, if thou be not Christ, nor Elias, nor the prophet?
Now those men, when they had seen what a miracle Jesus had done, said: This is of a truth the prophet, that is to come into the world.
Of that multitude therefore, when they had heard these words of his, some said: This is the prophet indeed.
They say therefore to the blind man again: What sayest thou of him that hath opened they eyes? And he said: He is a prophet.
This is that Moses who said to the children of Israel: A prophet shall God raise up to you of your own brethren, as myself: him shall you hear.
