And Jesus answering, said to them: You err, not knowing the Scriptures, nor the power of God.
And Jesus answering, saith to them: Do ye not therefore err, because you know not the scriptures, nor the power of God?
In those days Peter rising up in the midst of the brethren, said: (now the number of persons together was about an hundred and twenty:)
Know you not that the unjust shall not possess the kingdom of God? Do not err: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers,
Wherefore, my dearly beloved, (as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but much more now in my absence,) with fear and trembling work out your salvation.
Therefore, my dearly beloved brethren, and most desired, my joy and my crown; so stand fast in the Lord, my dearly beloved.
Beware lest any man cheat you by philosophy, and vain deceit; according to the tradition of men, according to the elements of the world, and not according to Christ:
Who have erred from the truth, saying, that the resurrection is past already, and have subverted the faith of some.
You know, my dearest brethren. And let every man be swift to hear, but slow to speak, and slow to anger.
My brethren, have not the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ of glory with respect of persons.
What shall it profit, my brethren, if a man say he hath faith, but hath not works? Shall faith be able to save him?
Hearken, my dearest brethren: hath not God chosen the poor in this world, rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which God hath promised to them that love him?
Be ye not many masters, my brethren, knowing that you receive the greater judgment.
Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be.
Detract not one another, my brethren. He that detracteth his brother, or he that judgeth his brother, detracteth the law, and judgeth the law. But if thou judge the law, thou art not a doer of the law, but a judge.
But above all things, my brethren, swear not, neither by heaven, nor by the earth, nor by any other oath. But let your speech be, yea, yea: no, no: that you fall not under judgment.
