For Jehovah had fast closed up all the wombs of the house of Abimelech, because of Sarah, Abraham’s wife.
And Isaac entreated Jehovah for his wife, because she was barren: and Jehovah was entreated of him, and Rebekah his wife conceived.
And Jehovah saw that Leah was hated, and he opened her womb: but Rachel was barren.
And Jacob was wroth, and chode with Laban: and Jacob answered and said to Laban, What is my trespass? what is my sin, that thou hast hotly pursued after me?
And it came to pass, when the king of Israel had read the letter, that he rent his clothes, and said, Am I God, to kill and to make alive, that this man doth send unto me to recover a man of his leprosy? but consider, I pray you, and see how he seeketh a quarrel against me.
He maketh the barren woman to keep house, And to be a joyful mother of children. Praise ye Jehovah.
