² H559Thus saith[H8804] H3068the LORDH6635of hostsH430, the GodH3478of IsraelH7200; Ye have seen[H8804] H7451all the evilH935that I have brought[H8689] H3389upon JerusalemH5892, and upon all the citiesH3063of JudahH3117; and, behold, this dayH2723they are a desolationH3427, and no man dwelleth[H8802]  therein,

³ H6440BecauseH7451of their wickednessH6213which they have committed[H8804] H3707to provoke me to anger[H8687] H3212, in that they went[H8800] H6999to burn incense[H8763] H5647, and to serve[H8800] H312otherH430godsH3045, whom they knew[H8804] H1not, neither they, ye, nor your fathers.

⁴ H7971Howbeit I sent[H8799] H5650unto you all my servantsH5030the prophetsH7925, rising early[H8687] H7971and sending[H8800] H559them, saying[H8800] H6213, Oh, do[H8799] H8441not this abominableH1697thingH8130that I hate[H8804] .

⁵ H8085But they hearkened[H8804] H5186not, nor inclined[H8689] H241their earH7725to turn[H8800] H7451from their wickednessH6999, to burn no incense[H8763] H312unto otherH430gods.

⁶ H2534Wherefore my furyH639and mine angerH5413was poured forth[H8799] H1197, and was kindled[H8799] H5892in the citiesH3063of JudahH2351and in the streetsH3389of JerusalemH2723; and they are wastedH8077and desolateH3117, as at this day.

⁷ H559Therefore now thus saith[H8804] H3068the LORDH430, the GodH6635of hostsH430, the GodH3478of IsraelH6213; Wherefore commit[H8802] H1419ye this greatH7451evilH5315against your soulsH3772, to cut off[H8687] H376from you manH802and womanH5768, childH3243and suckling[H8802] H8432, outH3063of JudahH3498, to leave[H8687] H7611you none to remain;

⁸ H3707In that ye provoke me unto wrath[H8687] H4639with the worksH3027of your handsH6999, burning incense[H8763] H312unto otherH430godsH776in the landH4714of EgyptH935, whither ye be gone[H8802] H1481to dwell[H8800] H3772, that ye might cut yourselves off[H8687] H7045, and that ye might be a curseH2781and a reproachH1471among all the nationsH776of the earth?

⁹ H7911Have ye forgotten[H8804] H7451the wickednessH1of your fathersH7451, and the wickednessH4428of the kingsH3063of JudahH7451, and the wickednessH802of their wivesH7451, and your own wickednessH7451, and the wickednessH802of your wivesH6213, which they have committed[H8804] H776in the landH3063of JudahH2351, and in the streetsH3389of Jerusalem?

¹⁰ H1792They are not humbled[H8795] H3117even unto this dayH3372, neither have they feared[H8804] H1980, nor walked[H8804] H8451in my lawH2708, nor in my statutesH5414, that I set[H8804] H6440beforeH6440you and beforeH1your fathers.

¹¹ H559Therefore thus saith[H8804] H3068the LORDH6635of hostsH430, the GodH3478of IsraelH7760; Behold, I will set[H8802] H6440my faceH7451against you for evilH3772, and to cut off[H8687] H3063all Judah.

¹² H3947And I will take[H8804] H7611the remnantH3063of JudahH7760, that have set[H8804] H6440their facesH935to go[H8800] H776into the landH4714of EgyptH1481to sojourn[H8800] H8552there, and they shall all be consumed[H8804] H5307, and fall[H8799] H776in the landH4714of EgyptH8552; they shall even be consumed[H8735] H2719by the swordH7458and by the famineH4191: they shall die[H8799] H6996, from the leastH1419even unto the greatestH2719, by the swordH7458and by the famineH423: and they shall be an execrationH8047, and an astonishmentH7045, and a curseH2781, and a reproach.

¹³ H6485For I will punish[H8804] H3427them that dwell[H8802] H776in the landH4714of EgyptH6485, as I have punished[H8804] H3389JerusalemH2719, by the swordH7458, by the famineH1698, and by the pestilence:

¹⁴ H7611So that none of the remnantH3063of JudahH935, which are gone[H8802] H776into the landH4714of EgyptH1481to sojourn[H8800] H6412there, shall escapeH8300or remainH7725, that they should return[H8800] H776into the landH3063of JudahH5375, to the which they have[H8764] H5315a desireH7725to return[H8800] H3427to dwell[H8800] H7725there: for none shall return[H8799] H6405but such as shall escape.

¹⁵ H582Then all the menH3045which knew[H8802] H802that their wivesH6999had burned incense[H8764] H312unto otherH430godsH802, and all the womenH5975that stood by[H8802] H1419, a greatH6951multitudeH5971, even all the peopleH3427that dwelt[H8802] H776in the landH4714of EgyptH6624, in PathrosH6030, answered[H8799] H3414JeremiahH559, saying[H8800] ,

¹⁶ H1697As for the wordH1696that thou hast spoken[H8765] H8034unto us in the nameH3068of the LORDH8085, we will not hearken[H8802]  unto thee.

¹⁷ H6213But we will certainly[H8800] H6213do[H8799] H1697whatsoever thingH3318goeth forth[H8804] H6310out of our own mouthH6999, to burn incense[H8763] H4446unto the queenH8064of heavenH5258, and to pour out[H8687] H5262drink offeringsH6213unto her, as we have done[H8804] H1, we, and our fathersH4428, our kingsH8269, and our princesH5892, in the citiesH3063of JudahH2351, and in the streetsH3389of JerusalemH7646: for then had we plenty[H8799] H3899of victualsH2896, and were wellH7200, and saw[H8804] H7451no evil.

¹⁸ H2308But since we left off[H8804] H6999to burn incense[H8763] H4446to the queenH8064of heavenH5258, and to pour out[H8687] H5262drink offeringsH2637unto her, we have wanted[H8804] H8552all things, and have been consumed[H8804] H2719by the swordH7458and by the famine.

¹⁹ H6999And when we burned incense[H8764] H4446to the queenH8064of heavenH5258, and poured out[H8687] H5262drink offeringsH6213unto her, did we make[H8804] H3561her cakesH6087to worship[H8687] H5258her, and pour out[H8687] H5262drink offeringsH1107unto her, withoutH582our men?

²⁰ H3414Then JeremiahH559said[H8799] H5971unto all the peopleH1397, to the menH802, and to the womenH5971, and to all the peopleH1697which had given him that answerH6030 [H8802] H559, saying[H8800] ,

²¹ H7002The incenseH6999that ye burned[H8765] H5892in the citiesH3063of JudahH2351, and in the streetsH3389of JerusalemH1, ye, and your fathersH4428, your kingsH8269, and your princesH5971, and the peopleH776of the landH3068, did not the LORDH2142remember[H8804] H5927them, and came[H8799] H3820it not into his mind?

²² H3068So that the LORDH3201could[H8799] H5375no longer bear[H8800] H6440, becauseH7455of the evilH4611of your doingsH6440, and becauseH8441of the abominationsH6213which ye have committed[H8804] H776; therefore is your landH2723a desolationH8047, and an astonishmentH7045, and a curseH3427, without an inhabitant[H8802] H3117, as at this day.

²³ H6440BecauseH834 H6999ye have burned incense[H8765] H2398, and because ye have sinned[H8804] H3068against the LORDH8085, and have not obeyed[H8804] H6963the voiceH3068of the LORDH1980, nor walked[H8804] H8451in his lawH2708, nor in his statutesH5715, nor in his testimoniesH7451; therefore this evilH7122is happened[H8804] H3117unto you, as at this day.

²⁴ H3414Moreover JeremiahH559said[H8799] H5971unto all the peopleH802, and to all the womenH8085, Hear[H8798] H1697the wordH3068of the LORDH3063, all JudahH776that are in the landH4714of Egypt:

²⁵ H559Thus saith[H8804] H3068the LORDH6635of hostsH430, the GodH3478of IsraelH559, saying[H8800] H802; Ye and your wivesH1696have both spoken[H8762] H6310with your mouthsH4390, and fulfilled[H8765] H3027with your handH559, saying[H8800] H6213, We will surely[H8800] H6213perform[H8799] H5088our vowsH5087that we have vowed[H8804] H6999, to burn incense[H8763] H4446to the queenH8064of heavenH5258, and to pour out[H8687] H5262drink offeringsH6965unto her: ye will surely[H8687] H6965accomplish[H8686] H5088your vowsH6213, and surely[H8800] H6213perform[H8799] H5088your vows.

²⁶ H8085Therefore hear[H8798] H1697ye the wordH3068of the LORDH3063, all JudahH3427that dwell[H8802] H776in the landH4714of EgyptH7650; Behold, I have sworn[H8738] H1419by my greatH8034nameH559, saith[H8804] H3068the LORDH8034, that my nameH7121shall no more be named[H8737] H6310in the mouthH376of any manH3063of JudahH776in all the landH4714of EgyptH559, saying[H8802] H136, The LordH3069GODH2416liveth.

²⁷ H8245Behold, I will watch[H8802] H7451over them for evilH2896, and not for goodH376: and all the menH3063of JudahH776that are in the landH4714of EgyptH8552shall be consumed[H8804] H2719by the swordH7458and by the famineH3615, until there be an end[H8800]  of them.

²⁸ H4962Yet a smallH4557numberH6412that escapeH2719the swordH7725shall return out[H8799] H776of the landH4714of EgyptH776into the landH3063of JudahH7611, and all the remnantH3063of JudahH935, that are gone[H8802] H776into the landH4714of EgyptH1481to sojourn[H8800] H3045there, shall know[H8804] H1697whose wordsH6965shall stand[H8799] , mine, or theirs.

²⁹ H226And this shall be a signH5002unto you, saith[H8803] H3068the LORDH6485, that I will punish[H8802] H4725you in this placeH3045, that ye may know[H8799] H1697that my wordsH6965shall surely[H8800] H6965stand[H8799] H7451against you for evil:

³⁰ H559Thus saith[H8804] H3068the LORDH5414; Behold, I will give[H8802] H6548PharaohhophraH4428kingH4714of EgyptH3027into the handH341of his enemies[H8802] H3027, and into the handH1245of them that seek[H8764] H5315his lifeH5414; as I gave[H8804] H6667ZedekiahH4428kingH3063of JudahH3027into the handH5019of NebuchadrezzarH4428kingH894of BabylonH341, his enemy[H8802] H1245, and that sought[H8764] H5315his life.
