¹ H1696Then spake[H8765] H477ElishaH802unto the womanH1121, whose sonH2421he had restored to life[H8689] H559, saying[H8800] H6965, Arise[H8798] H3212, and go[H8798] H1004thou and thine householdH1481, and sojourn[H8798] H834wheresoeverH1481thou canst sojourn[H8799] H3068: for the LORDH7121hath called[H8804] H7458for a famineH935; and it shall also come[H8804] H776upon the landH7651sevenH8141years.

² H802And the womanH6965arose[H8799] H6213, and did[H8799] H1697after the sayingH376of the manH430of GodH3212: and she went[H8799] H1004with her householdH1481, and sojourned[H8799] H776in the landH6430of the PhilistinesH7651sevenH8141years.

³ H7651And it came to pass at the sevenH8141yearsH7097' endH802, that the womanH7725returned[H8799] H776out of the landH6430of the PhilistinesH3318: and she went forth[H8799] H6817to cry[H8800] H4428unto the kingH1004for her houseH7704and for her land.

⁴ H4428And the kingH1696talked[H8764] H1522with GehaziH5288the servantH376of the manH430of GodH559, saying[H8800] H5608, Tell[H8761] H1419me, I pray thee, all the great thingsH477that ElishaH6213hath done[H8804] .

⁵ H5608And it came to pass, as he was telling[H8764] H4428the kingH2421how he had restoredH4191a dead body[H8801] H2421to life[H8689] H802, that, behold, the womanH1121, whose sonH2421he had restored to life[H8689] H6817, cried[H8802] H4428to the kingH1004for her houseH7704and for her landH1522. And GehaziH559said[H8799] H113, My lordH4428, O kingH802, this is the womanH1121, and this is her sonH477, whom ElishaH2421restored to life[H8689] .

⁶ H4428And when the kingH7592asked[H8799] H802the womanH5608, she told[H8762] H4428him. So the kingH5414appointed[H8799] H259unto her a certainH5631officerH559, saying[H8800] H7725, Restore[H8685] H8393all that was hers, and all the fruitsH7704of the fieldH3117since the dayH5800that she left[H8800] H776the land, even until now.

⁷ H477And ElishaH935came[H8799] H1834to DamascusH1130; and BenhadadH4428the kingH758of SyriaH2470was sick[H8802] H5046; and it was told[H8714] H559him, saying[H8800] H376, The manH430of GodH935is come[H8804] H2008hither.

⁸ H4428And the kingH559said[H8799] H2371unto HazaelH3947, Take[H8798] H4503a presentH3027in thine handH3212, and go[H8798] H7125, meet[H8800] H376the manH430of GodH1875, and enquire[H8804] H3068of the LORDH559by him, saying[H8800] H2421, Shall I recover[H8799] H2483of this disease?

⁹ H2371So HazaelH3212went[H8799] H7125to meet[H8800] H3947him, and took[H8799] H4503a presentH3027with himH2898, even of every good thingH1834of DamascusH705, fortyH1581camelsH4853' burdenH935, and came[H8799] H5975and stood[H8799] H6440beforeH559him, and said[H8799] H1121, Thy sonH1130BenhadadH4428kingH758of SyriaH7971hath sent[H8804] H559me to thee, saying[H8800] H2421, Shall I recover[H8799] H2483of this disease?

¹⁰ H477And ElishaH559said[H8799] H3212unto him, Go[H8798] H559, say[H8798] H2421unto him, Thou mayest certainly[H8800] H2421recover[H8799] H3068: howbeit the LORDH7200hath shewed[H8689] H4191me that he shall surely[H8800] H4191die[H8799] .

¹¹ H5975And he settled[H8686] H6440his countenanceH7760stedfastly[H8799] H954, until he was ashamed[H8800] H376: and the manH430of GodH1058wept[H8799] .

¹² H2371And HazaelH559said[H8799] H1058, Why weepeth[H8802] H113my lordH559? And he answered[H8799] H3045, Because I know[H8804] H7451the evilH6213that thou wilt do[H8799] H1121unto the childrenH3478of IsraelH4013: their strong holdsH7971wilt thou set[H8762] H784on fireH970, and their young menH2026wilt thou slay[H8799] H2719with the swordH7376, and wilt dash[H8762] H5768their childrenH1234, and rip up[H8762] H2030their women with child.

¹³ H2371And HazaelH559said[H8799] H5650, But what, is thy servantH3611a dogH6213, that he should do[H8799] H1419this greatH1697thingH477? And ElishaH559answered[H8799] H3068, The LORDH7200hath shewed[H8689] H4428me that thou shalt be kingH758over Syria.

¹⁴ H3212So he departed[H8799] H477from ElishaH935, and came[H8799] H113to his masterH559; who said[H8799] H559to him, What said[H8804] H477ElishaH559to thee? And he answered[H8799] H559, He told[H8804] H2421me that thou shouldest surely[H8800] H2421recover[H8799] .

¹⁵ H4283And it came to pass on the morrowH3947, that he took[H8799] H4346a thick clothH2881, and dipped[H8799] H4325it in waterH6566, and spread[H8799] H6440it on his faceH4191, so that he died[H8799] H2371: and HazaelH4427reigned[H8799]  in his stead.

¹⁶ H2568And in the fifthH8141yearH3141of JoramH1121the sonH256of AhabH4428kingH3478of IsraelH3092, JehoshaphatH4428being then kingH3063of JudahH3088, JehoramH1121the sonH3092of JehoshaphatH4428kingH3063of JudahH4427began to reign[H8804] .

¹⁷ H7970ThirtyH8147and twoH8141yearsH1121oldH4427was he when he began to reign[H8800] H4427; and he reigned[H8804] H8083eightH8141yearsH3389in Jerusalem.

¹⁸ H3212And he walked[H8799] H1870in the wayH4428of the kingsH3478of IsraelH6213, as did[H8804] H1004the houseH256of AhabH1323: for the daughterH256of AhabH802was his wifeH6213: and he did[H8799] H7451evilH5869in the sightH3068of the LORD.

¹⁹ H3068Yet the LORDH14would[H8804] H7843not destroy[H8687] H3063JudahH1732for DavidH5650his servant'sH559sake, as he promised[H8804] H5414him to give[H8800] H3117him alwayH5216a lightH1121, and to his children.

²⁰ H3117In his daysH123EdomH6586revolted[H8804] H3027from under the handH3063of JudahH4427, and made[H8686] H4428a king over themselves.

²¹ H3141So JoramH5674went over[H8799] H6811to ZairH7393, and all the chariotsH6965with him: and he rose[H8804] H3915by nightH5221, and smote[H8686] H123the EdomitesH5437which compassed him about[H8802] H8269, and the captainsH7393of the chariotsH5971: and the peopleH5127fled[H8799] H168into their tents.

²² H123Yet EdomH6586revolted[H8799] H3027from under the handH3063of JudahH3117unto this dayH3841. Then LibnahH6586revolted[H8799] H1931at the sameH6256time.

²³ H3499And the restH1697of the actsH3141of JoramH6213, and all that he did[H8804] H3789, are they not written[H8803] H5612in the bookH1697of the chroniclesH3117 H4428of the kingsH3063of Judah?

²⁴ H3141And JoramH7901slept[H8799] H1with his fathersH6912, and was buried[H8735] H1with his fathersH5892in the cityH1732of DavidH274: and AhaziahH1121his sonH4427reigned[H8799]  in his stead.

²⁵ H8147In the twelfthH6240 H8141 H8141yearH3141of JoramH1121the sonH256of AhabH4428kingH3478of IsraelH274did AhaziahH1121the sonH3088of JehoramH4428kingH3063of JudahH4427begin to reign[H8804] .

²⁶ H8147TwoH6242and twentyH8141yearsH1121oldH274was AhaziahH4427when he began to reign[H8800] H4427; and he reigned[H8804] H259oneH8141yearH3389in JerusalemH517. And his mother'sH8034nameH6271was AthaliahH1323, the daughterH6018of OmriH4428kingH3478of Israel.

²⁷ H3212And he walked[H8799] H1870in the wayH1004of the houseH256of AhabH6213, and did[H8799] H7451evilH5869in the sightH3068of the LORDH1004, as did the houseH256of AhabH2860: for he was the son in lawH1004of the houseH256of Ahab.

²⁸ H3212And he went[H8799] H3141with JoramH1121the sonH256of AhabH4421to the warH2371against HazaelH4428kingH758of SyriaH7433in RamothgileadH1568 H761; and the SyriansH5221wounded[H8686] H3141Joram.

²⁹ H4428And kingH3141JoramH7725went back[H8799] H7495to be healed[H8692] H3157in JezreelH4347of the woundsH761which the SyriansH5221had given[H8686] H7414him at RamahH3898, when he fought[H8736] H2371against HazaelH4428kingH758of SyriaH274. And AhaziahH1121the sonH3088of JehoramH4428kingH3063of JudahH3381went down[H8804] H7200to see[H8800] H3141JoramH1121the sonH256of AhabH3157in JezreelH2470, because he was sick[H8802] .
