³ H6430And the PhilistinesH5975stood[H8802] H2022on a mountainH3478on the one side, and IsraelH5975stood[H8802] H2022on a mountainH1516on the other side: and there was a valley between them.

And SaulH559said[H8799] H1732unto DavidH3212, Go[H8798] H3068, and the LORD be with thee.

⁴¹ H6430And the PhilistineH3212came[H8799] H1980on[H8802] H7131and drew nearH1732unto DavidH376; and the manH5375that bare[H8802] H6793the shieldH6440went before him.

⁴² H6430And when the PhilistineH5027looked about[H8686] H7200, and saw[H8799] H1732DavidH959, he disdained[H8799] H5288him: for he was but a youthH132, and ruddyH3303, and of a fairH4758countenance.

⁴⁷ H6951And all this assemblyH3045shall know[H8799] H3068that the LORDH3467saveth[H8686] H2719not with swordH2595and spearH4421: for the battleH3068is the LORD'SH5414, and he will give[H8804] H3027you into our hands.

⁴⁸ H6430And it came to pass, when the PhilistineH6965arose[H8804] H3212, and came[H8799] H7126and drew nigh[H8799] H7125to meet[H8800] H1732DavidH1732, that DavidH4116hasted[H8762] H7323, and ran[H8799] H4634toward the armyH7125to meet[H8800] H6430the Philistine.

⁴⁹ H1732And DavidH7971put[H8799] H3027his handH3627in his bagH3947, and took[H8799] H68thence a stoneH7049, and slang[H8762] H5221it, and smote[H8686] H6430the PhilistineH4696in his foreheadH68, that the stoneH2883sunk[H8799] H4696into his foreheadH5307; and he fell[H8799] H6440upon his faceH776to the earth.

⁵⁰ H1732So DavidH2388prevailed[H8799] H4480overH6430the PhilistineH7050with a slingH68and with a stoneH5221, and smote[H8686] H6430the PhilistineH4191, and slew[H8686] H2719him; but there was no swordH3027in the handH1732of David.

⁵¹ H1732Therefore DavidH7323ran[H8799] H5975, and stood[H8799] H6430upon the PhilistineH3947, and took[H8799] H2719his swordH8025, and drew[H8799] H8593it out of the sheathH4191thereof, and slew[H8787] H3772him, and cut off[H8799] H7218his headH6430therewith. And the woundedH6430of the PhilistinesH5307fell down[H8799] H1870by the wayH8189to ShaaraimH1661, even unto GathH6138, and unto Ekron.

⁵³ H1121And the childrenH3478of IsraelH7725returned[H8799] H1814from chasing[H8800] H310afterH6430the PhilistinesH8155, and they spoiled[H8799] H4264their tents.

⁵⁴ H1732And DavidH3947took[H8799] H7218the headH6430of the PhilistineH935, and brought[H8686] H3389it to JerusalemH7760; but he put[H8804] H3627his armourH168in his tent.

⁵⁵ H7586And when SaulH7200saw[H8800] H1732DavidH3318go forth[H8802] H7125against[H8800] H6430the PhilistineH559, he said[H8804] H74unto AbnerH8269, the captainH6635of the hostH74, AbnerH1121, whose sonH5288is this youthH74? And AbnerH559said[H8799] H5315, As thy soulH2416livethH4428, O kingH518, I cannotH3045tell[H8804] .

⁵⁶ H4428And the kingH559said[H8799] H7592, Enquire[H8798] H1121thou whose sonH5958the stripling is .

⁵⁷ H1732And as DavidH7725returned[H8800] H5221from the slaughter[H8687] H6430of the PhilistineH74, AbnerH3947took[H8799] H935him, and brought[H8686] H6440him beforeH7586SaulH7218with the headH6430of the PhilistineH3027in his hand.
