Job 10 - Easy To Read Version1 I hate my own life.\par So I will complain freely.\par My soul is very bitter,\par so now I will speak.\par 2 I will say to God:\par ‘Don’t blame me!\par Tell me,\par What have I done wrong?\par What do you have against me?\par 3 God, does hurting me make you happy?\par It seems that you don’t care about\par what you made.\par Or maybe you are happy\par with the plans that bad people make?\par 4 God, do you have human eyes?\par Do you see things the way people do?\par 5 Is your life as short as ours?\par Is your life as short as a man’s life?\par No! \{So how do you know what it’s like?\}\par 6 You look for my wrong\par and search for my sin.\par 7 You know I am innocent,\par but no one can save me\par from your power!\par 8 God, your hands made me\par and shaped my body.\par But now they are closing in on me\par and destroying me!\par 9 God, remember, you made me like clay.\par Will you make into clay again?\par 10 You pour me out like milk.\par You spin me and squeeze me\par like someone making cheese.\par 11 You put me together\par with bones and muscles.\par And then you clothed me\par with skin and flesh.\par 12 You gave me life\par and were very kind to me.\par You cared for me\par and watched over my spirit.\par 13 But this is what you hid in your heart,\par I know this is what you secretly\par planned in your heart.\par Yes, I know this is what was\par in your mind:\par 14 If I sinned, you would be watching me,\par so you could punish me\par for doing wrong.\par 15 When I sin, I am guilty\par and it will be very bad for me.\par But I can’t lift up my head\par even when I am innocent!\par I am so ashamed and embarrassed.\par 16 If I have any success and feel proud,\par you hunt me like a person hunts a lion.\par You again show your power against me.\par 17 You always have someone\par to prove I am wrong.\par Your will show your anger at me\par again and again in many ways,\par as you send one army after another\par against me.\par 18 So, God, why did you let me be born?\par I wish I had died before anyone saw me.\par 19 I wish I had never lived.\par I wish I had been carried\par from my mother’s womb\par straight to the grave.\par 20 My life is almost finished.\par So leave me alone!\par Let me enjoy the little time I have left,\par 21 before I go to the place\par that no person comes back from,\par the place of darkness and death.\par 22 \{Let me enjoy the little time I have left\}\par before I go to the place no one can see\par that place of darkness, shadows,\par and confusion.\par In that place even the light is dark.’”\par |
