God, your hands made me\par and shaped my body.\par But now they are closing in on me\par and destroying me!\par


God, you would call me\par and I would answer you.\par Then I, the person you made,\par would be important to you.\par


You are against God\par when you say these angry words.\par


God has given me to evil people.\par He let wicked people hurt me.\par


But it is God who did wrong to me.\par He set his trap to catch me.\par


“It is true, evil people don’t make\par their own success.\par I can’t follow their advice.\par


And it was God who filled their houses\par with good things!\par No, I can’t follow the advice of evil people.\par


“Truly, God lives.\par And just as truly as God lives,\par He has truly been unfair with me.\par God All-Powerful made my life bitter.\par


God, you are mean to me.\par You use your power to hurt me.\par


God made me in my mother’s body.\par And God also made my slaves.\par God shaped us all inside our mothers.\par


God’s Spirit made me.\par My life comes from \{God\} All-Powerful.\par


“Job, you argued with God All-Powerful.\par You judged me guilty of doing wrong.\par Now, will you admit that you are wrong?\par Will you answer me!”\par


“Job, do you think that I am not fair?\par You say that I am guilty of doing wrong\par so that you will appear innocent!\par


God doesn’t abandon innocent people.\par He doesn’t help evil people.\par


I say to myself,\par ‘The same thing happens to everybody.\par Innocent people die just like the guilty.\par God ends all their lives.’\par


When an evil man takes control of a land,\par does God keep the leaders\par from seeing what is happening?\par If that is true,\par then who is God anyway?\par


Know that the Lord is God.\par He made us.\par We are his people,\par We are his sheep.\par


Lord, give me the things you promised.\par Lord, your true love continues forever.\par Lord, you made us,\par so don’t leave us!\par


The Lord listens to poor, helpless people.\par The Lord still likes people in prison.\par


But Lord, you are our father.\par We are like clay.\par And you are the potter. {\cf2\super [464]} \par Your hands made us all.\par


So those people who suffer like God wants them to should trust their lives to him. God is the One who made them, and they can trust him. So they should continue to do good.
