So, God, why did you let me be born?\par I wish I had died before anyone saw me.\par


My life is almost finished.\par So leave me alone!\par Let me enjoy the little time I have left,\par


The bad things that happened to me\par are like a black cloud over my face.\par But that darkness won’t keep me quiet.\par


Why didn’t I die when I was born?\par Why didn’t I die at birth?\par


Why wasn’t I a child who died at birth\par and was buried in the ground?\par I wish I were like a baby\par that never saw the light of day.\par


May they be like snails melting away\par as they move.\par May they be like a baby\par that was born dead\par and never saw the light of day.\par


Why? Because that man did not kill me\par while I was in my mother’s body.\par If he had killed me at that time,\par my mother would have been my grave,\par and I would never have been born.\par
