How much more, when wicked men have slain a righteous man in his own house upon his bed, shall I not now require his blood at your hand, and destroy you from the earth?”


Incline thy ear, O Lord, and hear; open thy eyes, O Lord, and see; and hear the words of Sennacherib, which he has sent to mock the living God.


how much less one who is abominable and corrupt, a man who drinks iniquity like water!


Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin!


Your lamb shall be without blemish, a male a year old; you shall take it from the sheep or from the goats;


Behold my servant, whom I uphold, my chosen, in whom my soul delights; I have put my Spirit upon him, he will bring forth justice to the nations.


And they made his grave with the wicked and with a rich man in his death, although he had done no violence, and there was no deceit in his mouth.


For thus says the high and lofty One who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy: “I dwell in the high and holy place, and also with him who is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite.


The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me to bring good tidings to the afflicted; he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound;


But the Lord is the true God; he is the living God and the everlasting King. At his wrath the earth quakes, and the nations cannot endure his indignation.


“Thus says the Lord God: In the first month, on the first day of the month, you shall take a young bull without blemish, and cleanse the sanctuary.


I make a decree, that in all my royal dominion men tremble and fear before the God of Daniel, for he is the living God, enduring for ever; his kingdom shall never be destroyed, and his dominion shall be to the end.


You shall not offer anything that has a blemish, for it will not be acceptable for you.


“At the beginnings of your months you shall offer a burnt offering to the Lord: two young bulls, one ram, seven male lambs a year old without blemish;


And you shall say to them, This is the offering by fire which you shall offer to the Lord: two male lambs a year old without blemish, day by day, as a continual offering.


“On the sabbath day two male lambs a year old without blemish, and two tenths of an ephah of fine flour for a cereal offering, mixed with oil, and its drink offering:


But if it is by the Spirit of God that I cast out demons, then the kingdom of God has come upon you.


Simon Peter replied, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”


even as the Son of man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”


If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!


to grant us that we, being delivered from the hand of our enemies, might serve him without fear,


Consider the ravens: they neither sow nor reap, they have neither storehouse nor barn, and yet God feeds them. Of how much more value are you than the birds!


But if God so clothes the grass which is alive in the field today and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, how much more will he clothe you, O men of little faith!


“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim release to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed,


For he whom God has sent utters the words of God, for it is not by measure that he gives the Spirit;


until the day when he was taken up, after he had given commandment through the Holy Spirit to the apostles whom he had chosen.


how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power; how he went about doing good and healing all that were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him.


“Men, why are you doing this? We also are men, of like nature with you, and bring you good news, that you should turn from these vain things to a living God who made the heaven and the earth and the sea and all that is in them.


and he made no distinction between us and them, but cleansed their hearts by faith.


Ever since the creation of the world his invisible nature, namely, his eternal power and deity, has been clearly perceived in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse;


and designated Son of God in power according to the Spirit of holiness by his resurrection from the dead, Jesus Christ our Lord,


Now if their trespass means riches for the world, and if their failure means riches for the Gentiles, how much more will their full inclusion mean!


For if you have been cut from what is by nature a wild olive tree, and grafted, contrary to nature, into a cultivated olive tree, how much more will these natural branches be grafted back into their own olive tree.


Do not yield your members to sin as instruments of wickedness, but yield yourselves to God as men who have been brought from death to life, and your members to God as instruments of righteousness.


But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the return you get is sanctification and its end, eternal life.


Thus it is written, “The first man Adam became a living being”; the last Adam became a life-giving spirit.


For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.


What agreement has the temple of God with idols? For we are the temple of the living God; as God said, “I will live in them and move among them, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.


For I through the law died to the law, that I might live to God.


even when we were dead through our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved),


And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.


But if it has any blemish, if it is lame or blind, or has any serious blemish whatever, you shall not sacrifice it to the Lord your God.


“You shall not sacrifice to the Lord your God an ox or a sheep in which is a blemish, any defect whatever; for that is an abomination to the Lord your God.


For I know how rebellious and stubborn you are; behold, while I am yet alive with you, today you have been rebellious against the Lord; how much more after my death!


The eternal God is your dwelling place, and underneath are the everlasting arms. And he thrust out the enemy before you, and said, Destroy.


For who is there of all flesh, that has heard the voice of the living God speaking out of the midst of fire, as we have, and has still lived?


For they themselves report concerning us what a welcome we had among you, and how you turned to God from idols, to serve a living and true God,


To the King of ages, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory for ever and ever. Amen.


if I am delayed, you may know how one ought to behave in the household of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and bulwark of the truth.


who gave himself for us to redeem us from all iniquity and to purify for himself a people of his own who are zealous for good deeds.


He reflects the glory of God and bears the very stamp of his nature, upholding the universe by his word of power. When he had made purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high,


And by that will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.


But when Christ had offered for all time a single sacrifice for sins, he sat down at the right hand of God,


Otherwise, would they not have ceased to be offered? If the worshipers had once been cleansed, they would no longer have any consciousness of sin.


let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.


By faith Jacob, when dying, blessed each of the sons of Joseph, bowing in worship over the head of his staff.


So Jesus also suffered outside the gate in order to sanctify the people through his own blood.


Take care, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil, unbelieving heart, leading you to fall away from the living God.


Therefore let us leave the elementary doctrine of Christ and go on to maturity, not laying again a foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God,


who has become a priest, not according to a legal requirement concerning bodily descent but by the power of an indestructible life.


He has no need, like those high priests, to offer sacrifices daily, first for his own sins and then for those of the people; he did this once for all when he offered up himself.


he entered once for all into the Holy Place, taking not the blood of goats and calves but his own blood, thus securing an eternal redemption.


for then he would have had to suffer repeatedly since the foundation of the world. But as it is, he has appeared once for all at the end of the age to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.


but into the second only the high priest goes, and he but once a year, and not without taking blood which he offers for himself and for the errors of the people.


(which is symbolic for the present age). According to this arrangement, gifts and sacrifices are offered which cannot perfect the conscience of the worshiper,


but with the precious blood of Christ, like that of a lamb without blemish or spot.


He committed no sin; no guile was found on his lips.


He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed.


For Christ also died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive in the spirit;


so as to live for the rest of the time in the flesh no longer by human passions but by the will of God.


but if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.


You know that he appeared to take away sins, and in him there is no sin.


and from Jesus Christ the faithful witness, the first-born of the dead, and the ruler of kings on earth. To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood


And David said to the men who stood by him, “What shall be done for the man who kills this Philistine, and takes away the reproach from Israel? For who is this uncircumcised Philistine, that he should defy the armies of the living God?”
