Hebrews 9:15 - Revised Standard Version

15 Therefore he is the mediator of a new covenant, so that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance, since a death has occurred which redeems them from the transgressions under the first covenant.

The Lord knows the days of the blameless, and their heritage will abide for ever;


And after the sixty-two weeks, an anointed one shall be cut off, and shall have nothing; and the people of the prince who is to come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary. Its end shall come with a flood, and to the end there shall be war; desolations are decreed.


And every one who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or lands, for my name's sake, will receive a hundredfold, and inherit eternal life.


and sent his servants to call those who were invited to the marriage feast; but they would not come.


Then the King will say to those at his right hand, ‘Come, O blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world;


I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.’


And as he was setting out on his journey, a man ran up and knelt before him, and asked him, “Good Teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?”


And a ruler asked him, “Good Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?”


And likewise the cup after supper, saying, “This cup which is poured out for you is the new covenant in my blood.


and I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish, and no one shall snatch them out of my hand.


And now I commend you to God and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up and to give you the inheritance among all those who are sanctified.


For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by his life.


While we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly.


But God shows his love for us in that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us.


For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.


We know that in everything God works for good with those who love him, who are called according to his purpose.


And those whom he predestined he also called; and those whom he called he also justified; and those whom he justified he also glorified.


even us whom he has called, not from the Jews only but also from the Gentiles?


who has made us competent to be ministers of a new covenant, not in a written code but in the Spirit; for the written code kills, but the Spirit gives life.


Now an intermediary implies more than one; but God is one.


In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace


To this he called you through our gospel, so that you may obtain the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.


For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus,


Therefore I endure everything for the sake of the elect, that they also may obtain salvation in Christ Jesus with its eternal glory.


in hope of eternal life which God, who never lies, promised ages ago


so that we might be justified by his grace and become heirs in hope of eternal life.


For you had compassion on the prisoners, and you joyfully accepted the plundering of your property, since you knew that you yourselves had a better possession and an abiding one.


For you have need of endurance, so that you may do the will of God and receive what is promised.


These all died in faith, not having received what was promised, but having seen it and greeted it from afar, and having acknowledged that they were strangers and exiles on the earth.


and to Jesus, the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood that speaks more graciously than the blood of Abel.


Now may the God of peace who brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great shepherd of the sheep, by the blood of the eternal covenant,


Since therefore the children share in flesh and blood, he himself likewise partook of the same nature, that through death he might destroy him who has the power of death, that is, the devil,


Therefore, holy brethren, who share in a heavenly call, consider Jesus, the apostle and high priest of our confession.


For when God made a promise to Abraham, since he had no one greater by whom to swear, he swore by himself,


And thus Abraham, having patiently endured, obtained the promise.


This makes Jesus the surety of a better covenant.


In speaking of a new covenant he treats the first as obsolete. And what is becoming obsolete and growing old is ready to vanish away.


he entered once for all into the Holy Place, taking not the blood of goats and calves but his own blood, thus securing an eternal redemption.


For where a will is involved, the death of the one who made it must be established.


so Christ, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to deal with sin but to save those who are eagerly waiting for him.


Blessed is the man who endures trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life which God has promised to those who love him.


For Christ also died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive in the spirit;


And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, establish, and strengthen you.


And this is what he has promised us, eternal life.


and they sang a new song, saying, “Worthy art thou to take the scroll and to open its seals, for thou wast slain and by thy blood didst ransom men for God from every tribe and tongue and people and nation,
