The Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.


And when the Lord smelled the pleasing odor, the Lord said in his heart, “I will never again curse the ground because of man, for the imagination of man's heart is evil from his youth; neither will I ever again destroy every living creature as I have done.


And yet this was a small thing in thy eyes, O Lord God; thou hast spoken also of thy servant's house for a great while to come, and hast shown me future generations, O Lord God!


how much less one who is abominable and corrupt, a man who drinks iniquity like water!


For the Lord God is a sun and shield; he bestows favor and honor. No good thing does the Lord withhold from those who walk uprightly.


Yea, the Lord will give what is good, and our land will yield its increase.


But thou, O Lord, art a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness.


For thou, O Lord, art good and forgiving, abounding in steadfast love to all who call on thee.


“Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should have no compassion on the son of her womb? Even these may forget, yet I will not forget you.


I will recount the steadfast love of the Lord, the praises of the Lord, according to all that the Lord has granted us, and the great goodness to the house of Israel which he has granted them according to his mercy, according to the abundance of his steadfast love.


The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately corrupt; who can understand it?


“Behold, the days are coming, says the Lord, when I will fulfil the promise I made to the house of Israel and the house of Judah.


Take with you words and return to the Lord; say to him, “Take away all iniquity; accept that which is good and we will render the fruit of our lips.


Who is a God like thee, pardoning iniquity and passing over transgression for the remnant of his inheritance? He does not retain his anger for ever because he delights in steadfast love.


“A son honors his father, and a servant his master. If then I am a father, where is my honor? And if I am a master, where is my fear? says the Lord of hosts to you, O priests, who despise my name. You say, ‘How have we despised thy name?’


And call no man your father on earth, for you have one Father, who is in heaven.


Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a serpent?


For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.


Now we know that whatever the law says it speaks to those who are under the law, so that every mouth may be stopped, and the whole world may be held accountable to God.


What then? Are we Jews any better off? No, not at all; for I have already charged that all men, both Jews and Greeks, are under the power of sin,


He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, will he not also give us all things with him?


But the scripture consigned all things to sin, that what was promised to faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe.


Every good endowment and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.


See what love the Father has given us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. The reason why the world does not know us is that it did not know him.


In this is love, not that we loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the expiation for our sins.
