The followers answered, “But we have only five loaves of bread and two fish.”
You still don’t understand? Remember the five loaves of bread that fed the 5,000 people? And remember that you filled many baskets \{with bread after the people finished eating\}?
Jesus asked the followers, “How many loaves of bread do you have now? Go and see.”

Jesus walked to the food. He took the bread and gave it to them. Jesus also got the fish and gave it to them.
When the followers stepped out of the boat and onto the shore, they saw a fire of hot coals. There were fish on the fire and some bread there too.
Then Jesus held the loaves of bread. Jesus thanked God for the bread and gave it to the people that were waiting to eat. He did the same with the fish. Jesus gave the people as much as they wanted.
Philip answered, “We would all have to work a month to buy enough bread for each person here to have only a little piece!”
You know the grace (kindness) of our Lord Jesus Christ. You know that Christ was rich \{with God\}, but for you he became poor. Christ did this so that you could become rich by his becoming poor.
