Psalm 147 - Easy To Read Version

1 Praise the Lord because he is good.\par Sing praises to our God.\par It is good and pleasant to praise him.\par

2 The Lord built Jerusalem.\par God brought back the Israelite people\par who were taken as prisoners.\par

3 God heals their broken hearts\par and bandages their wounds.\par

4 God counts the stars\par and knows the name\par of each and every one.\par

5 Our Master is very great.\par He is very powerful.\par There is no limit to the things he knows.\par

6 The Lord supports humble people.\par But he embarrasses bad people.\par

7 Thank the Lord.\par Praise our God with harps.\par

8 God fills the sky with clouds.\par God makes rain for the earth.\par God makes the grass grow on the mountains.\par

9 God gives food to the animals.\par God feeds the young birds.\par

10 War horses and powerful soldiers\par don’t make him happy.\par

11 The Lord is happy with people\par who worship him.\par The Lord is pleased with people\par who trust in his true love.\par

12 Jerusalem, praise the Lord!\par Zion, praise your God!\par

13 Jerusalem, God makes your gates strong.\par And God blesses the people in your city.\par

14 God brought peace to your country.\par So enemies did not take your grain in war.\par And you have plenty of grain for food.\par

15 God gives a command to the earth,\par and it quickly obeys.\par

16 God makes the snow fall\par until the ground is white like wool.\par God makes sleet blow through the air\par like dust.\par

17 God makes hail fall\par like rocks from the sky.\par No person can stand the cold he sends.\par

18 Then, God gives another command,\par and the warm air blows again.\par The ice melts,\par and water begins to flow.\par

19 God gave his commands to Jacob (Israel).\par God gave his laws and rules to Israel.\par

20 God did not do this for any other nation.\par God did not teach his laws to other people.\par Praise the Lord!\par \par \par
