“And there is no nation on earth like your people, the people of Israel. They are a special people. {They were slaves,} but you took them out of Egypt and made them free. You made them your people. You did great and wonderful things for the Israelites. You did wonderful things for your land.


God, don’t close your ears to my prayer!\par


Lord, people will tell about\par the amazing things you do.\par I will tell about the great things you do.\par


God will make his people strong.\par People will praise God’s followers.\par People will praise Israel.\par They are the people God fights for.\par Praise the Lord!\par


God, you are the Holy One.\par You sit as King.\par The praises of Israel are your throne.\par


The Lord is my strength. He saves me, and I sing songs of praise to him. [96] The Lord is my God, and I praise him. The Lord is the God of my ancestors, [97] and I honor him.


Then the Lord said, “I am making this agreement with all of your people. I will do amazing things that have never before been done for any other nation on earth. The people with you will see that I, the Lord, am very great. The people will see the wonderful things that I will do for you.


“The sun will no longer be your light\par during the day.\par The light from the moon will no longer\par be your light \{at night\}.\par Because the Lord will be your light forever.\par Your God will be your glory.\par


But we don’t really want\par you to do these things.\par The mountains would melt before you.\par


Lord, if you heal me,\par I truly will be healed.\par Save me,\par and I truly will be saved.\par Lord, I praise you!\par


He (Jesus) is a light to show your way to the non-Jewish people.\par He will bring honor to your people, Israel (the Jews).”\par


The Lord helped us to defeat the people living in these lands. The Lord helped us to defeat the Amorite people who lived in this land where we are now. So we will continue to serve the Lord. Why? Because he is our God.”


But you must honor the Lord. You must truly serve the Lord with all your heart. Remember the wonderful things he did for you!
