23 “And there is no nation on earth like your people, the people of Israel. They are a special people. {They were slaves,} but you took them out of Egypt and made them free. You made them your people. You did great and wonderful things for the Israelites. You did wonderful things for your land.

You made the people of Israel your very own people forever. And Lord, you became their God.


Is there any other nation like Israel? No! Israel is the only nation on earth that you have done these wonderful things for. You took us out of Egypt and you made us free. You made yourself famous! You went in front of your people, and forced other people to leave their land for us!


The people of Israel are your servants and your people. You used your great power and rescued those people.


God did amazing things in Ham’s country. {\cf2\super [557]} \par God did awesome things near the Red Sea!\par


God sent \{someone\} to rescue his people.\par God made his Agreement \{with them\} that would continue forever.\par God’s name is amazing and holy.\par


Lord, people will tell about\par the amazing things you do.\par I will tell about the great things you do.\par


God did not do this for any other nation.\par God did not teach his laws to other people.\par Praise the Lord!\par \par \par


Lord, our God, you have done many wonderful things!\par You have wonderful plans for us.\par No person could list them all!\par I will tell again and again about\par those things\par that are too many to count.\par


It was not our father’s swords\par that took the land.\par It was not their strong arms\par that made them winners.\par It was because you were with our fathers.\par God, your great power saved our fathers.\par Why? Because you loved them!\par


God, you save us.\par Good people pray to you,\par and you answer their prayers.\par You do amazing things for them.\par People all around the world trust you.\par


Tell God how wonderful his works are!\par God, your power is very great!\par Your enemies bow down.\par They are afraid of you!\par


“Tonight I will go through Egypt and kill every firstborn [65] man and animal in Egypt. In this way, I will judge all the gods of Egypt. I {will show that I} am the Lord.


Also, how will we know if you are pleased with me and these people? If you go with us, then we will know for sure! If you don’t go with us, then I and these people will be no different than any other people on the earth.”


You will be my people and I will be your God. I am the Lord your God, and you will know that I made you free from Egypt.


I could use my power and cause a disease that would wipe you and your people off the earth.


But I have put you here for a reason. I have put you here so that I could show you my power. Then people all over the world will learn about me!


Lord, you did powerful miracles in the land of Egypt. You have done powerful miracles even until today. You did those things in Israel and you did those things wherever there are people. You have become famous because of these things.


Lord, you used powerful miracles and brought your people Israel out of Egypt. You used your own powerful hand to do those things. Your power was amazing!


But I did not destroy them. I had already told the people where they were living that I would bring my people out of Egypt. I did not want to ruin my good name, so I did not destroy Israel in front of those other people.


Then the Lord said, “In that way, Aaron and his sons will use my name to give a blessing to the people of Israel. And I will bless them.”


And this brings praise to God because of his wonderful grace (kindness). God gave that grace to us freely. He gave us that grace in \{Christ,\} the One he loves.


The Lord is the one you should praise. He is your God. He has done great and amazing things for you. You have seen those things with your own eyes.


Remember, you were slaves in Egypt. And the Lord your God set you free. So that is why I am giving you this command today.


Israel, you are blessed. No other nation is like you. The Lord saved you. The Lord is like a strong shield protecting you. The Lord is like a powerful sword. Your enemies will be afraid of you. And you will trample their holy places!”


I prayed to the Lord. I said: Lord my Master, don’t destroy your people. They belong to you. You freed them and brought them out of Egypt with your great power and strength.


He gave himself for us. He died to free us from all evil. He died to make us pure people that belong only to him—people that are always wanting to do good things.


The Canaanite people and all the other people in this country will hear about what happened. Then they will attack us and kill all of us! Then what will you do to protect your great name?”


But you are chosen people. You are the King’s priests. You are a holy {\cf2\super [20]} nation of people. You are people who belong to God. God chose you to tell about the wonderful things he has done. He called (brought) you out of darkness (sin) into his wonderful light.


And they all sang a new song \{to the Lamb\}:
