He was the Angel who saved me from all my troubles. And I pray that he will bless these boys. Now these boys will have my name and the name of our ancestors, Abraham and Isaac. I pray that they will grow to become great families and nations on earth.”

God, you saved me from my enemies! You helped me defeat the people who stood against me. You save me from cruel men!


Good people might have many problems,\par but the Lord will save them\par from every one of their problems.\par


The Lord helps good people\par and saves them.\par Good people depend on the Lord,\par and he saves them from bad people.\par


The Lord says,\par “If a person trusts me, I will save him.\par I will protect my followers\par who worship my name.\par

God helps and saves people.\par God does amazing miracles\par in heaven and on earth.\par God saved Daniel from the lions.”\par


They continued their trip from Perga and went to Antioch, a city near Pisidia. In Antioch on the Sabbath day {\cf2\super [255]} they went into the Jewish synagogue {\cf2\super [256]} and sat down.


The Jews saw all these people there. So the Jews became very jealous. They said some very bad things and argued against the words that Paul said.


In Lystra there was a man who had something wrong with his feet. He had been born crippled; he had never walked.


The Jews planned things against me, and this gave me much trouble. But you know that I always served the Lord, sometimes with tears. I never thought about myself first.


The argument became a fight. The commander was afraid that the Jews would tear Paul to pieces. So the commander told the soldiers to go down and take Paul away from these Jews and to put him in the army building.


I will not let \{your own\} people (the Jews) hurt you. And I will keep you safe from the non-Jewish people too. I am sending you to these people.


But God helped me, and he is still helping me today. With God’s help I am standing here today and telling all people the things I have seen. But I am saying nothing new. I am saying the same things that Moses and the prophets {\cf2\super [498]} said would happen.


I will show Saul the things he must suffer for my name.”


Pray that I will be saved from the non-believers in Judea. And pray that this help I bring to Jerusalem will please God’s people there.


We share in the many sufferings of Christ. In the same way, much comfort comes to us through Christ.


Our hope for you is strong. We know that you share in our sufferings. So we know that you also share in our comfort.


So I am happy when I have weaknesses. I am happy when people say bad things to me. I am happy when I have hard times. I am happy when people treat me badly. And I am happy when I have problems. All these things are for Christ. And I am happy with these things, because when I am weak, then I am truly strong.


I have fought the good fight. I have finished the race. I have kept the faith.


\{Yes, God did all these things.\} So the Lord \{God\} will always save the people who serve him. He will save them when troubles come. And the Lord will hold evil people and punish them while waiting for the day of judgment.
