You multiplied their descendants like the stars of the sky and brought them to the land you told their ancestors to go in and possess.


He makes nations great, then destroys them; he enlarges nations,  then leads them away.


And the Lord of Armies will brandish a whip against him as he did when he struck Midian at the rock of Oreb;  and he will raise his staff over the sea as he did in Egypt.


On that day you will say: ‘I will give thanks to you, Lord, although you were angry with me. Your anger has turned away, and you have comforted me.


The Lord has broken the staff of the wicked, the sceptre of the rulers.


On that day it will be said, ‘Look, this is our God; we have waited for him, and he has saved us. This is the Lord; we have waited for him. Let’s rejoice and be glad in his salvation.’


You have added to the nation,  Lord. You have added to the nation; you are honoured. You have expanded all the borders of the land.


and the ransomed of the  Lord will return and come to Zion with singing, crowned with unending joy. Joy and gladness will overtake them, and sorrow and sighing will flee.


It will blossom abundantly and will also rejoice with joy and singing. The glory of Lebanon will be given to it, the splendour of Carmel and Sharon. They will see the glory of the  Lord, the splendour of our God.


‘Rejoice, childless one, who did not give birth; burst into song and shout, you who have not been in labour! For the children of the desolate one will be more than the children of the married woman,’ says the Lord.


You will indeed go out with joy and be peacefully guided; the mountains and the hills will break into singing before you, and all the trees of the field will clap their hands.


I rejoice greatly in the  Lord, I exult in my God; for he has clothed me with the garments of salvation and wrapped me in a robe of righteousness, as a groom wears a turban and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.


In place of your shame, you will have a double portion; in place of disgrace, they will rejoice over their share. So they will possess double in their land, and eternal joy will be theirs.


Look! My servants will shout for joy from a glad heart, but you will cry out from an anguished heart, and you will lament out of a broken spirit.


Then be glad and rejoice for ever in what I am creating; for I will create Jerusalem to be a joy and its people to be a delight.


Be glad for Jerusalem and rejoice over her, all who love her. Rejoice greatly with her, all who mourn over her –


For this is what the Lord says: Sing with joy for Jacob; shout for the foremost of the nations! Proclaim, praise, and say, ‘Lord, save your people, the remnant of Israel! ’


The more they multiplied, the more they sinned against me. I  will change their   honour into disgrace.


I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, so that you would no longer be their slaves. I broke the bars of your yoke  and enabled you to live in freedom.


I will whistle  and gather them because I have redeemed   them; they will be as numerous as they once were.


‘Many nations will join themselves to the Lord on that day and become my  people.  I will dwell among you, and you will know that the Lord of Armies has sent me to you.


The Lord of Armies says this: ‘In those days, ten men from nations of every language will grab the robe of a Jewish man tightly, urging: Let us go with you,  for we have heard that God is with you.’


But when one stronger than he attacks and overpowers   him, he takes from him all his weapons   , he trusted   in, and divides up his plunder.


So there was great joy in that city.


Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!


Though you have not seen  him, you love him;  though not seeing him now, you believe in him, and you rejoice  with inexpressible and glorious joy,


Listen, kings! Pay attention, princes! I will sing to the  Lord; I will sing praise to the  Lord  God of Israel.


When Gideon’s men blew their three hundred rams’ horns, the Lord caused the men in the whole army to turn on each other with their swords.  They fled to Acacia House  in the direction of Zererah as far as the border of Abel-meholah  near Tabbath.


Zebah and Zalmunna fled, and he pursued them. He captured these two kings of Midian and routed the entire army.


So he led him, and there were the Amalekites, spread out over the entire area, eating, drinking, and celebrating because of the great amount of plunder  they had taken from the land of the Philistines and the land of Judah.
