Then the trees of the forest will shout for joy before the  Lord, for he is coming to judge the earth.


Shitrai the Sharonite was in charge of the herds that grazed in Sharon,  while Shaphat son of Adlai was in charge of the herds in the valleys.


They lived in Gilead, in Bashan and its surrounding villages, and throughout the pasturelands of Sharon.


and in the morning you will see the Lord’s glory because he has heard your complaints about him. For who are we that you complain about us? ’


I am a wildflower  of Sharon, a lily  of the valleys.


Your head crowns you  like Mount Carmel, the hair of your head like purple cloth – a king could be held captive  in your tresses.


On that day it will be said, ‘Look, this is our God; we have waited for him, and he has saved us. This is the Lord; we have waited for him. Let’s rejoice and be glad in his salvation.’

The land mourns and withers; Lebanon is ashamed and wilted. Sharon is like a desert; Bashan and Carmel shake off their leaves.


and the ransomed of the  Lord will return and come to Zion with singing, crowned with unending joy. Joy and gladness will overtake them, and sorrow and sighing will flee.


And the glory of the  Lord will appear, and all humanity  together will see it, for the mouth of the  Lord has spoken.


Zion, herald of good news, go up on a high mountain. Jerusalem, herald of good news, raise your voice loudly. Raise it, do not be afraid! Say to the cities of Judah, ‘Here is your God! ’


I will plant cedar, acacia, myrtle, and olive trees in the wilderness. I will put juniper, elm, and cypress trees together in the desert,


Shout for joy, you heavens! Earth, rejoice! Mountains, break into joyful shouts! For the Lord has comforted his people, and will have compassion on his afflicted ones.

The glory of Lebanon will come to you   – its pine, elm, and cypress together   – to beautify the place of my sanctuary, and I will glorify my dwelling place.

to provide for those who mourn in Zion; to give them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, festive oil instead of mourning, and splendid clothes instead of despair. And they will be called righteous trees, planted by the  Lord to glorify him.


Be glad for Jerusalem and rejoice over her, all who love her. Rejoice greatly with her, all who mourn over her –


You will see, you will rejoice, and you  will flourish like grass; then the Lord’s power will be revealed to his servants, but he will show his wrath against his enemies.


I will be like the dew to Israel; he will blossom like the lily and take root like the cedars of Lebanon.


For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the  Lord’s glory, as the water covers the sea.


Ephraim  will be like a warrior, and their hearts will be glad as if with wine. Their children will see it and be glad; their hearts will rejoice in the  Lord.


Isaiah said these things because  he saw his glory  and spoke about him.


‘Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am,   so that they will see my glory, which you have given me because you loved me before the world’s foundation.


So all who lived in Lydda and Sharon  saw him and turned to the Lord.


And how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: How beautiful   are the feet of those who bring good news.   ,


Again it says, Rejoice, you Gentiles, with his people!   ,


We all, with unveiled faces, are looking as in a mirror at  , the glory of the Lord  and are being transformed  into the same image  from glory to glory; this is from the Lord who is the Spirit.


For God, who said, ‘Let light shine out of darkness’,  has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge  of God’s glory  in the face of Jesus Christ.
