and that, by God’s will, I may come to you with joy and be refreshed together with you.
So if one member suffers, all the members suffer with it; if one member is honoured, all the members rejoice with it.
For they have refreshed my spirit and yours. Therefore recognise such people.
I had no rest in my spirit because I did not find my brother Titus. Instead, I said goodbye to them and left for Macedonia.
I wrote this very thing so that when I came I wouldn’t have pain from those who ought to give me joy, because I am confident about all of you that my joy will also be yours.
For if I have made any boast to him about you, I have not been disappointed; but as I have spoken everything to you in truth, so our boasting to Titus has also turned out to be the truth.
And his affection towards you is even greater as he remembers the obedience of all of you, and how you received him with fear and trembling.
But God, who comforts the downcast, comforted us by the arrival of Titus,
For this reason, I am very eager to send him so that you may rejoice again when you see him and I may be less anxious.
May the Lord grant mercy to the household of Onesiphorus, because he often refreshed me and was not ashamed of my chains.
Yes, brother, may I benefit from you in the Lord; refresh my heart in Christ.
For I have great joy and encouragement from your love, because the hearts of the saints have been refreshed through you, brother.
