that Your eyesmay be opentowardthishousenightand day,towardthe placeof whichYou have said,'My nameshall be there,'to listento the prayerwhichYour servantshall praytowardthisplace.
He senthorsesand chariotsand a greatarmythere,and they cameby nightand surroundedthe city.
When they camedownto him, Elishaprayedto the LORDand said,"Strikethispeoplewith blindness,I pray."So He struckthem with blindnessaccording to the wordof Elisha.

"Now,O my God,I pray,let Your eyesbe openand Your earsattentiveto the prayer[offered] in thisplace.
"NowMy eyeswill be openand My earsattentiveto the prayer[offered] in thisplace.
let Your earnowbe attentiveand Your eyesopento hearthe prayerof Your servantwhichI am prayingbeforeYou now,dayand night,on behalfof the sonsof IsraelYour servants,confessingthe sinsof the sonsof Israelwhichwe have sinnedagainst You; I and my father'shousehave sinned.

"InclineYour ear,O LORD,and hear;openYour eyes,O LORD,and see;and listento allthe wordsof Sennacherib,who sent[them] to reproachthe livingGod.
For I will setMy eyeson them for good,and I will bringthem againto thisland;and I will buildthem up and not overthrowthem, and I will plantthem and not pluckthem up.
"I will turnyou aboutand puthooksinto your jaws,and I will bringyou out, and allyour army,horsesand horsemen,allof them splendidlyattired,a greatcompany[with] bucklerand shield,allof them wieldingswords;

"They will be as mightymen,Treadingdown[the enemy] in the mireof the streetsin battle;And they will fight,for the LORD[will be] with them; And the riderson horseswill be putto shame.
"In that daythere will be greatmourningin Jerusalem,like the mourningof Hadadrimmonin the plainof Megiddo.
"It will comeabout in that daythat I will makeJerusalema heavystonefor allthe peoples;allwho liftit will be severelyinjured.And allthe nationsof the earthwill be gatheredagainstit.
"Then the clansof Judahwill sayin their hearts,A strongsupportfor us are the inhabitantsof Jerusalemthrough the LORDof hosts,their God.'
"In that dayI will makethe clansof Judahlike a firepotamong pieces of woodand a flamingtorchamong sheaves,so they will consumeon the righthandand on the leftallthe surroundingpeoples,while the inhabitantsof Jerusalemagaindwellon their own sitesin Jerusalem.
Soalso like thisplaguewill be the plagueon the horse,the mule,the camel,the donkeyand allthe cattlethat will be in thosecamps.
But I will camparound My housebecauseof an army,Becauseof him who passesby and returns;And nooppressorwill passoverthem anymore,For nowI have seenwith My eyes.
