Then he tookthe crownof their kingfrom his head;and its weight[was] a talentof gold,and [in it] [was] a preciousstone;and it was [placed] on David'shead.And he broughtout the spoilof the cityin greatamounts.
Then the menof Judahcameand thereanointedDavidkingoverthe houseof Judah.And they toldDavid,saying,"It was the menof Jabesh-gileadwhoburiedSaul."
So allthe eldersof Israelcameto the kingat Hebron,and KingDavidmadea covenantwith them beforethe LORDat Hebron;then they anointedDavidkingoverIsrael.
Davidtookthe crownof their kingfrom his head,and he foundit to weigha talentof gold,and there was a preciousstonein it; and it was placedon David'shead.And he broughtout the spoilof the city,a verygreatamount.
"Nowtherefore arise,O LORDGod,to Your restingplace,You and the arkof Your might;let Your priests,O LORDGod,be clothedwith salvationand let Your godlyonesrejoicein whatis good.
"Whohas givento Me that I should repay[him]? [Whatever] is underthe wholeheavenis Mine.
They confrontedme in the dayof my calamity,But the LORDwas my stay.
We will singfor joyover your victory,And in the nameof our Godwe will setup our banners.May the LORDfulfillallyour petitions.
Howgreatis Your goodness,WhichYou have storedup for those who fearYou, Which You have wroughtfor those who takerefugein You, Beforethe sonsof men!
My Godin His lovingkindnesswill meetme; Godwill let me look[triumphantly] upon my foes.
OrWHOHAS FIRST GIVENTO HIM THAT IT MIGHT BE PAID BACKTO HIM AGAIN?
Ordo you think lightlyof the richesof His kindnessand toleranceand patience,not knowingthat the kindnessof Godleadsyou to repentance?
Blessed[be] the Godand Fatherof our LordJesusChrist,who has blessedus with everyspiritualblessingin the heavenly[places] in Christ,
But we do seeHim who was madefor a little whilelowerthanthe angels,[namely], Jesus,becauseof the sufferingof deathcrownedwith gloryand honor,sothat by the graceof GodHe might tastedeathfor everyone.
His eyes[are] a flameof fire,and on His head[are] manydiadems;and He hasa namewritten[on Him] whichno oneknowsexceptHimself.
Then Samueltookthe hornof oiland anointedhim in the midstof his brothers;and the Spiritof the LORDcamemightilyupon Davidfrom that dayforward.And Samuelaroseand wentto Ramah.
