He who justifiesthe wickedand he who condemnsthe righteous,Bothof them alikeare an abominationto the LORD.
Then the twoworthlessmencamein and satbeforehim; and the worthlessmentestifiedagainst him, even against Naboth, beforethe people, saying,"NabothcursedGodand the king."So they tookhim outsidethe cityand stonedhim to deathwith stones.
They bandthemselves togetheragainstthe lifeof the righteousAnd condemnthe innocentto death.
"Keepfarfrom a false charge, and do not killthe innocentor the righteous, for I will not acquitthe guilty.
A false balanceis an abominationto the LORD,But a justweightis His delight.
The sacrificeof the wickedis an abominationto the LORD,But the prayerof the uprightis His delight.
It is alsonot goodto finethe righteous,[Nor] to strikethe noblefor [their] uprightness.
To showpartialityto the wickedis not good,[Nor] to thrustasidethe righteousin judgment.
For they will drinkand forgetwhat is decreed,And pervertthe rightsof allthe afflicted.
Thereare sixthingswhich the LORDhates,Yes, sevenwhich are an abominationto Him:
Woeto those who callevilgood, and goodevil;Who substitutedarknessfor lightand lightfor darkness;Who substitutebitterfor sweetand sweetfor bitter!
Who justifythe wickedfor a bribe,And takeawaythe rightsof the ones whoare in the right!
To deprivea manof justiceIn the presenceof the MostHigh,
"For handfulsof barleyand fragmentsof bread, you have profanedMe to My peopleto putto deathsomewhoshould not dieand to keepothersalivewhoshould not live,by your lyingto My peoplewho listento lies."'"
For I knowyour transgressionsare manyand your sinsare great,[You] who distressthe righteous[and] acceptbribesAnd turnasidethe poorin the gate.
[For] those who turnjusticeinto wormwoodAnd castrighteousnessdownto the earth."
Do horsesrunon rocks?Ordoes one plowthem with oxen?Yetyou have turnedjusticeinto poisonAnd the fruitof righteousnessinto wormwood,
But to the one who does not work, but believesin Him who justifiesthe ungodly, his faithis creditedas righteousness,
"Ifthere is a disputebetweenmenand they goto court, and the judgesdecidetheir case, and they justifythe righteousand condemnthe wicked,
You have condemnedand put to deaththe righteous[man]; he does not resistyou.
