But the LORDsaidto Mosesand Aaron,"Becauseyou have not believedMe, to treatMe as holyin the sightof the sonsof Israel,thereforeyou shall not bringthisassemblyinto the landwhichI have giventhem."
They roseearlyin the morningand wentout to the wildernessof Tekoa;and when they wentout, Jehoshaphatstoodand said,"Listento me, O Judahand inhabitantsof Jerusalem,putyour trustin the LORDyour Godand you will be established.Putyour trustin His prophetsand succeed."
They also provoked[Him] to wrathat the watersof Meribah,So that it wenthardwith Moseson their account;
O LORDour God,You answeredthem; You were a forgivingGodto them, And [yet] an avengerof their [evil] deeds.
and the headof Ephraimis Samariaand the headof Samariais the sonof Remaliah.Ifyou will not believe,you surelyshall not last."'"
"It is the LORDof hostswhom you should regardas holy.And He shall be your fear,And He shall be your dread.
"As a soothingaromaI will acceptyou when I bringyou out from the peoplesand gatheryou from the landswhereyou are scattered;and I will proveMyself holyamong you in the sightof the nations.
"I will vindicatethe holinessof My greatnamewhich has been profanedamong the nations,whichyou have profanedin their midst.Then the nationswill knowthat I am the LORD,"declaresthe LordGOD,"when I proveMyself holyamong you in their sight.
Thussaysthe LordGOD,"It will comeabout on that day,that thoughtswill comeinto your mindand you will devisean evilplan,
Then Mosessaidto Aaron,"It is whatthe LORDspoke,saying,By those who comenearMe I will be treatedas holy,And beforeallthe peopleI will be honored.'"So Aaron,therefore, keptsilent.
"So ifYou are going to dealthuswith me, pleasekillme at once,ifI have foundfavorin Your sight,and do not let me seemy wretchedness."
"Aaronwill be gatheredto his people;for he shall not enterthe landwhichI have givento the sonsof Israel,becauseyou rebelledagainstMy commandat the watersof Meribah.
for in the wildernessof Zin,during the strifeof the congregation,you rebelledagainstMy commandto treatMe as holybeforetheir eyesat the water."(Theseare the watersof Meribahof Kadeshin the wildernessof Zin.)
And Jesusansweredand said,"You unbelievingand pervertedgeneration,howlongshall I be with you? How longshall I putup with you? Bringhim hereto Me."
And He saidto them, "Becauseof the littleness of your faith;for trulyI sayto you, ifyou havefaiththe sizeof a mustardseed,you will sayto thismountain,'Movefrom hereto there,'and it will move;and nothingwill be impossibleto you.
"And behold,you shall be silentand unableto speakuntilthe daywhenthese thingstake place,becauseyou did not believemy words,whichwill be fulfilledin their proper time."
"And blessed[is] she who believedthat there would be a fulfillmentof what had been spokento her by the Lord."
For the Lawwas giventhroughMoses;graceand truthwere realizedthroughJesusChrist.
yet,with respectto the promiseof God,he did not waverin unbeliefbut grew strongin faith,givinggloryto God,
"The LORDwas angrywith me alsoon your account,saying,Not evenyou shall enterthere.
Then the LORDsaidto him, "Thisis the landwhichI sworeto Abraham,Isaac,and Jacob,saying,'I will giveit to your descendants;I have let you see[it] with your eyes,but you shall not gooverthere."
"Now the LORDwas angrywith me on your account,and sworethat I would not crossthe Jordan,and that I would not enterthe goodlandwhichthe LORDyour Godis givingyou as an inheritance.
"MosesMy servantis dead;nowtherefore arise,crossthisJordan,you and allthispeople,to the landwhichI am givingto them, to the sonsof Israel.
but sanctifyChristas Lordin your hearts,always[being] readyto make a defenseto everyonewho asksyou to give an accountfor the hopethat is in you, yetwith gentlenessand reverence;
