Mountainsquakebecauseof Him And the hillsdissolve;Indeed the earthis upheavedby His presence,The worldand allthe inhabitantsin it.
The mountainswill meltunderHim And the valleyswill be split,Like waxbeforethe fire,Like waterpoureddowna steepplace.
I lookedon the mountains,and behold,they were quaking,And allthe hillsmovedto and fro.
"Then the earthshookand quaked,The foundationsof heavenwere tremblingAnd were shaken,becauseHe was angry.
The mountainssawYou [and] quaked;The downpourof waterssweptby. The deeputteredforthits voice,It liftedhighits hands.
The earthquaked;The heavensalsodropped[rain] at the presenceof God;Sinaiitself[quaked] at the presenceof God,the Godof Israel.
"The mountainsquakedat the presenceof the LORD,ThisSinai,at the presenceof the LORD,the Godof Israel.
O mountains,that you skiplike rams?O hills,like lambs?
The mountainsskippedlike rams,The hills,like lambs.
Let the searoarand allit contains,The worldand those who dwellin it.
The nationsmadean uproar,the kingdomstottered;He raisedHis voice,the earthmelted.
Now MountSinai[was] allin smokebecausethe LORDdescendedupon it in fire;and its smokeascendedlike the smokeof a furnace,and the wholemountainquakedviolently.
ThenI sawa greatwhitethroneand Him who satupon it, from whosepresenceearthand heavenfled away,and noplacewas foundfor them.
And behold,a severeearthquakehad occurred,for an angelof the Lorddescendedfrom heavenand cameand rolled awaythe stoneand satupon it.
And behold,the veilof the templewas tornin twofrom topto bottom;and the earthshookand the rockswere split.
The skywas split apartlikea scrollwhen it is rolledup, and everymountainand islandwere movedout of their places.
Then the earthshookand quaked;And the foundationsof the mountainswere tremblingAnd were shaken,becauseHe was angry.
On thisaccountthe angerof the LORDhas burnedagainst His people,And He has stretchedout His handagainstthem and struckthem down.And the mountainsquaked,and their corpseslaylike refusein the middleof the streets.For allthisHis angeris not spent,But His handis stillstretchedout.
Behold,the LORDlaysthe earthwaste,devastatesit, distortsits surfaceand scattersits inhabitants.
The earthreelsto and frolike a drunkardAnd it totterslike a shack,For its transgressionis heavyupon it, And it will fall,neverto riseagain.
Beforethem the earthquakes,The heavenstremble,The sunand the moongrowdarkAnd the starslosetheir brightness.
Whatare you, O greatmountain?BeforeZerubbabel[you will become] a plain;and he will bringforththe topstonewith shoutsof "Grace,graceto it!"'"
"For behold,the dayis coming,burninglike a furnace;and allthe arrogantand everyevildoerwill be chaff;and the daythat is comingwill setthem ablaze,"saysthe LORDof hosts,"sothat it will leavethem neitherrootnorbranch."
"[It is God] who removesthe mountains,they knownot [how], WhenHe overturnsthem in His anger;
"The pillarsof heaventrembleAnd are amazedat His rebuke.
Smokewentup out of His nostrils,And firefrom His mouthdevoured;Coalswere kindledby it.
He looksat the earth,and it trembles;He touchesthe mountains,and they smoke.
But the LORDis the true God;He is the livingGodand the everlastingKing.At His wraththe earthquakes,And the nationscannotendureHis indignation.
"The fishof the sea,the birdsof the heavens,the beastsof the field,allthe creepingthingsthat creepon the earth,and allthe menwhoare on the faceof the earthwill shakeat My presence;the mountainsalso will be throwndown,the steeppathwayswill collapseand everywallwill fallto the ground.
The LordGODof hosts,The One who touchesthe landso that it melts,And allthose who dwellin it mourn,And allof it risesup like the NileAnd subsideslike the Nileof Egypt;
