"Then you shall sayto them, 'Anymanfrom the houseof Israel,or from the alienswhosojournamongthem, whooffersa burntofferingorsacrifice,
Davidbuilttherean altarto the LORDand offeredburntofferingsand peaceofferings.Thus the LORDwas movedby prayerfor the land,and the plaguewas heldbackfrom Israel.
And anymanfrom the houseof Israel,or from the alienswho sojournamongthem, whoeatsanyblood,I will setMy faceagainst that personwho eatsbloodand will cuthim offfrom amonghis people.
and has not broughtit to the doorwayof the tentof meetingto present[it] as an offeringto the LORDbeforethe tabernacleof the LORD,bloodguiltinessis to be reckonedto that man.He has shedbloodand that manshall be cutofffrom amonghis people.
"They shall nolongersacrificetheir sacrificesto the goatdemonswith whichthey playthe harlot.Thisshall be a permanentstatuteto them throughout their generations."'
and does not bringit to the doorwayof the tentof meetingto offerit to the LORD,that manalso shall be cutofffrom his people.
Ifhe is going to offera lambfor his offering,then he shall offerit beforethe LORD,
"For from the risingof the sunevento its setting,My name[will be] greatamong the nations,and in everyplaceincenseis going to be offeredto My name,and a grain offering[that is] pure;for My name[will be] greatamong the nations,"saysthe LORDof hosts.
And the sonsof Israelheard[it] said,"Behold,the sonsof Reubenand the sonsof Gadand the half-tribeof Manassehhave builtan altarat the frontierof the landof Canaan,in the regionof the Jordan,on the side[belonging to] the sonsof Israel."
They cameto the sonsof Reubenand to the sonsof Gadand to the half-tribeof Manasseh,to the landof Gilead,and they spokewith them saying,
"Thussaysthe wholecongregationof the LORD,'Whatis thisunfaithfulactwhichyou have committedagainst the Godof Israel,turningawayfrom followingthe LORDthis day,by buildingyourselves an altar,to rebelagainst the LORDthis day?
and buildan altarto the LORDyour Godon the topof thisstrongholdin an orderlymanner,and takea secondbulland offera burntofferingwith the woodof the Asherahwhichyou shall cutdown."
"And you shall godownbeforeme to Gilgal;and behold,I will comedownto you to offerburntofferingsand sacrificepeaceofferings.You shall waitsevendaysuntilI cometo you and showyou whatyou should do."
But Samuelsaid,"Howcan I go?When Saulhears[of it], he will killme." And the LORDsaid,"Takea heiferwith you and say,'I have cometo sacrificeto the LORD.'
Samueltooka sucklinglamband offeredit for a wholeburntofferingto the LORD;and Samuelcriedto the LORDfor Israeland the LORDansweredhim.
