Then the LORDGodformedmanof dustfrom the ground,and breathedinto his nostrilsthe breathof life;and manbecamea livingbeing.
"Now,therefore, when I cometo your servantmy father,and the ladis not with us, since his lifeis boundup in the lad's life,
Then Davidsaidto him, "Howis it you were not afraidto stretchout your handto destroythe LORD'Sanointed?"
"O mountainsof Gilboa,Let not dewor rainbe on you, norfieldsof offerings;For therethe shieldof the mightywas defiled,The shieldof Saul,not anointedwith oil.
But the peoplesaid,"You should not goout; for ifwe indeedflee,they will not careaboutus; even ifhalfof us die,they will not careaboutus. But you are worth tenthousandof us; therefore nowit is betterthat you [be ready] to helpus from the city."
But Abishaithe sonof Zeruiahsaid,"Should not Shimeibe putto deathfor this,becausehe cursedthe LORD'Sanointed?"
Then Jeremiahchanteda lamentfor Josiah.And allthe male and female singersspeakaboutJosiahin their lamentationsto this day.And they madethem an ordinancein Israel;behold,they are also writtenin the Lamentations.
Eachwill be like a refugefrom the windAnd a shelterfrom the storm,Like streamsof waterin a drycountry,Like the shadeof a hugerockin a parchedland.
But the armyof the Chaldeanspursuedthem and overtookZedekiahin the plainsof Jericho;and they seizedhim and broughthim up to Nebuchadnezzarkingof Babylonat Riblahin the landof Hamath,and he passedsentenceon him.

Now he despisedthe oathby breakingthe covenant,and behold,he pledgedhis allegiance,yet didallthesethings;he shall not escape.'"
"They alsowentdownwith it to Sheolto those who were slainby the sword;and those who were its strengthlivedunder its shadeamongthe nations.
Its foliage[was] beautifuland its fruitabundant,And in it [was] foodfor all.The beastsof the fieldfoundshadeunderit, And the birdsof the skydweltin its branches,And alllivingcreaturesfedthemselves from it.
Wherenowis your kingThat he may saveyou in allyour cities,And your judgesof whomyou requested,"Giveme a kingand princes"?
"The bramblesaidto the trees,'Ifin truthyou are anointingme as kingoveryou, comeand takerefugein my shade;but ifnot, may firecomeout from the brambleand consumethe cedarsof Lebanon.'
"HereI am; bearwitnessagainst me beforethe LORDand His anointed.Whoseoxhave I taken,or whosedonkeyhave I taken,or whomhave I defrauded?Whomhave I oppressed,or from whosehandhave I takena bribeto blindmy eyeswith it? I will restore[it] to you."
He saidto them, "The LORDis witnessagainst you, and His anointedis witnessthisdaythat you have foundnothingin my hand."And they said,"[He is] witness."
When they entered,he lookedat Eliaband thought,"Surelythe LORD'Sanointedis beforeHim."
"Behold,thisdayyour eyeshave seenthat the LORDhad givenyou todayinto my handin the cave,and some saidto killyou, but [my eye] had pityon you; and I said,'I will not stretchout my handagainst my lord,for he is the LORD'Sanointed.'
So he saidto his men,"Farbe it from me becauseof the LORDthat I should dothisthingto my lord,the LORD'Sanointed,to stretchout my handagainst him, sincehe is the LORD'Sanointed."
"Thisthingthat you have doneis not good.As the LORDlives,[all] of you mustsurelydie,becauseyou did not guardyour lord,the LORD'Sanointed.And now,seewherethe king'sspearis and the jugof waterthat was at his head."
But Davidsaidto Abishai,"Do not destroyhim, for whocan stretchout his handagainst the LORD'Sanointedand be withoutguilt?"
