"Pourout the overflowingsof your anger,And lookon everyonewhois proud,and makehim low.
"When he fillshis belly,[God] will sendHis fierceangeron him And will rain[it] on him while he is eating.
"For the wickedis reservedfor the dayof calamity;They will be ledforthat the dayof fury.
"For it will hurlat him withoutsparing;He will surelytry to fleefrom its power.
"By the breathof Godthey perish,And by the blastof His angerthey cometo an end.
"[It is God] who removesthe mountains,they knownot [how], WhenHe overturnsthem in His anger;
Flashforthlightningand scatterthem; Sendout Your arrowsand confusethem.
Riseup, O Judgeof the earth,Renderrecompenseto the proud.
"Your righthand,O LORD,is majesticin power,Your righthand,O LORD,shattersthe enemy.
"NowI knowthat the LORDis greaterthanallthe gods;indeed,it was provenwhenthey dealtproudlyagainstthe people."
The prideof manwill be humbledAnd the loftinessof menwill be abased;And the LORDalonewill be exaltedin that day,
"I will deposeyou from your office,And I will pullyou downfrom your station.
The LORDof hostshas plannedit, to defilethe prideof allbeauty,To despiseallthe honoredof the earth.
And he will spreadout his handsin the middleof it As a swimmerspreadsout [his hands] to swim,But [the Lord] will laylowhis pridetogetherwith the trickeryof his hands.
"For He has broughtlowthose who dwellon high,the unassailablecity;He laysit low,He laysit lowto the ground,He castsit to the dust.
So He pouredout on him the heatof His angerAnd the fiercenessof battle;And it sethim aflameallaround,Yet he did not recognize[it]; And it burnedhim, but he paidnoattention.
"We have heardof the prideof Moab--he [is] veryproud--Of his haughtiness,his pride,his arroganceand his self-exaltation.
"Sonof man,sayto the leaderof Tyre,'Thussaysthe LordGOD,"Becauseyour heartis liftedup And you have said,I am a god,I sitin the seatof godsIn the heartof the seas;Yet you are a manand not God,Although you makeyour heartlike the heartof God--
thisis the interpretation,O king,and thisis the decreeof the MostHigh,whichhas comeupon my lordthe king:
"NowI, Nebuchadnezzar,praise,exaltand honorthe Kingof heaven,for allHis worksare true and His waysjust,and He is ableto humblethose whowalkin pride."
Whocan standbeforeHis indignation?Whocan endurethe burningof His anger?His wrathis pouredout like fireAnd the rocksare brokenup by Him.
But with an overflowingfloodHe will makea completeendof its site,And will pursueHis enemiesinto darkness.
"For behold,the dayis coming,burninglike a furnace;and allthe arrogantand everyevildoerwill be chaff;and the daythat is comingwill setthem ablaze,"saysthe LORDof hosts,"sothat it will leavethem neitherrootnorbranch."
"I tellyou, this manwentto his housejustifiedrather thanthe other;for everyonewho exaltshimselfwill be humbled,but he who humbleshimselfwill be exalted."
For a fireis kindledin My anger,And burnsto the lowestpartof Sheol,And consumesthe earthwith its yield,And setson firethe foundationsof the mountains.
But He givesa greatergrace.Therefore[it] says,"GODIS OPPOSEDTO THE PROUD,BUT GIVESGRACETO THE HUMBLE."
