"He swallowsriches,But will vomitthem up; Godwill expelthem from his belly.
You dividedthe seaby Your strength;You brokethe headsof the seamonstersin the waters.
Let us swallowthem alivelike Sheol,Even whole,as those who godownto the pit;
But pelicanand hedgehogwill possessit, And owland ravenwill dwellin it; And He will stretchoverit the lineof desolationAnd the plumblineof emptiness.
But thisis a peopleplunderedand despoiled;Allof them are trappedin caves,Or are hiddenaway in prisons;They have becomea preywith noneto deliver[them], And a spoil,with noneto say,"Give[them] back!"

IndeedBabylonis to fall[for] the slainof Israel,[As] alsofor Babylonthe slainof allthe earthhave fallen.
Howlonelysitsthe cityThat was fullof people!She has becomelike a widowWhowas [once] greatamong the nations!She who was a princessamong the provincesHas becomea forcedlaborer!
Allyour enemiesHave openedtheir mouthswide againstyou; They hissand gnash[their] teeth.They say,"We have swallowed[her] up! Surelythisis the dayfor whichwe waited;We have reached[it], we have seen[it]."
thereforeprophesyand say,'Thussaysthe LordGOD,"For good reasonthey have madeyou desolateand crushedyou from everyside,that you would becomea possessionof the restof the nationsand you have been takenup in the talkand the whisperingof the people."'"
Israelis swallowedup; They are nowamong the nationsLike a vesselin which noonedelights.
Hearthis,you who tramplethe needy,to doawaywith the humbleof the land,
For the LORDwill restorethe splendorof JacobLike the splendorof Israel,Even thoughdevastatorshave devastatedthem And destroyedtheir vinebranches.
