Our soulis greatlyfilledWith the scoffingof those whoare at ease,[And] with the contemptof the proud.
Behold,theseare the wicked;And alwaysat ease,they have increased[in] wealth.
Tremble,you [women] whoare at ease;Be troubled,you complacent[daughters]; Strip,undressand put[sackcloth] on [your] waist,
Riseup, you womenwhoare at ease,[And] hearmy voice;Giveearto my word,You complacentdaughters.
Let the wildernessand its citiesliftup [their voices], The settlementswhere Kedarinhabits.Let the inhabitantsof Selasingaloud,Let them shoutfor joyfrom the topsof the mountains.
"Now,then, hearthis,you sensualone,Who dwellssecurely,Who saysin your heart,I am, and thereis noonebesidesme. I will not sitas a widow,Norknowlossof children.'

ShepherdYour peoplewith Your scepter,The flockof Your possessionWhich dwellsby itselfin the woodland,In the midstof a fruitfulfield.Let them feedin Bashanand GileadAs in the daysof old.
Thussaysthe LORD,"Thoughthey are at full[strength] and likewisemany,Even so,they will be cutoffand passaway.Though I have afflictedyou, I will afflictyou nolonger.
Thisis the exultantcityWhich dwellssecurely,Who saysin her heart,"I am, and thereis noonebesidesme." Howshe has becomea desolation,A restingplacefor beasts!Everyonewho passesby her will hiss[And] wavehis hand[in contempt].
"As I seehim from the topof the rocks,And I lookat him from the hills;Behold,a people[who] dwellsapart,And will not be reckonedamong the nations.
"So Israeldwellsin security,The fountainof Jacobsecluded,In a landof grainand newwine;His heavensalsodropdowndew.
