Thiswholelandwill be a desolationand a horror,and thesenationswill servethe kingof Babylonseventyyears.
Thosewho had escapedfrom the swordhe carriedawayto Babylon;and they were servantsto him and to his sonsuntilthe ruleof the kingdomof Persia,
"I will layit waste;It will not be prunedor hoed,But briarsand thornswill comeup. I will also chargethe cloudsto rainnorainon it."
Then it will be when seventyyearsare completedI will punishthe kingof Babylonand that nation,'declaresthe LORD,'for their iniquity,and the landof the Chaldeans;and I will makeit an everlastingdesolation.
"He has leftHis hidingplacelike the lion;For their landhas becomea horrorBecauseof the fiercenessof the oppressing[sword] And becauseof His fierceanger."
They will be carriedto Babylonand they will be thereuntilthe dayI visitthem,' declaresthe LORD.Then I will bringthem backand restorethem to thisplace.'"

and sayto them, 'Thussaysthe LORDof hosts,the Godof Israel,"Behold,I am going to sendand getNebuchadnezzarthe kingof Babylon,My servant,and I am going to sethis throne[right] overthesestonesthat I have hidden;and he will spreadhis canopyoverthem.
"So the LORDwas nolongerableto endure[it], becauseof the evilof your deeds,becauseof the abominationswhichyou have committed;thus your landhas becomea ruin,an objectof horrorand a curse,withoutan inhabitant,as [it is] thisday.
"Then sayto the peopleof the land,'Thussaysthe LordGODconcerning the inhabitantsof Jerusalemin the landof Israel,"They will eattheir breadwith anxietyand drinktheir waterwith horror,becausetheir landwill be strippedof its fullnesson accountof the violenceof allwho livein it.
"A man'sfootwill not passthrough it, and the footof a beastwill not passthrough it, and it will not be inhabitedfor fortyyears.
"So throughout alltheir habitationsI will stretchout My handagainstthem and makethe landmoredesolateand wastethanthe wildernesstoward Diblah;thus they will knowthat I am the LORD."'"
in the firstyearof his reign,I, Daniel,observedin the booksthe numberof the yearswhichwas [revealed as] the wordof the LORDto Jeremiahthe prophetfor the completionof the desolationsof Jerusalem,[namely], seventyyears.
I will makethe landdesolateso that your enemieswho settlein it will be appalledoverit.
And the earthwill becomedesolatebecauseof her inhabitants,On accountof the fruitof their deeds.
Then the angelof the LORDsaid,"O LORDof hosts,howlongwill You havenocompassionfor Jerusalemand the citiesof Judah,with whichYou have beenindignanttheseseventyyears?"
"Sayto allthe peopleof the landand to the priests,'Whenyou fastedand mournedin the fifthand seventhmonths theseseventyyears,was it actuallyfor Me that you fasted?
