When your dreadcomeslike a stormAnd your calamitycomeslike a whirlwind,When distressand anguishcomeupon you.
When the whirlwindpasses,the wickedis nomore,But the righteous[has] an everlastingfoundation.
The oracleconcerning the wildernessof the sea.As windstormsin the Negevsweepon, It comesfrom the wilderness,from a terrifyingland.
Scarcelyhave they been planted,Scarcelyhave they been sown,Scarcelyhas their stocktakenrootin the earth,But He merelyblowson them, and they wither,And the stormcarriesthem away like stubble.
A clamorhas cometo the endof the earth,Becausethe LORDhas a controversywith the nations.He is enteringinto judgmentwith allflesh;As for the wicked,He has giventhem to the sword,'declaresthe LORD."
Thussaysthe LORDof hosts,"Behold,evilis goingforthFrom nationto nation,And a greatstormis being stirredup From the remotestpartsof the earth.
Behold,the tempestof the LORD!Wrathhas goneforth,A sweepingtempest;It will burston the headof the wicked.
The fierceangerof the LORDwill not turnbackUntilHe has performedand untilHe has accomplishedThe intentof His heart;In the latterdaysyou will understandthis.
In that timeit will be saidto thispeopleand to Jerusalem,"A scorchingwindfrom the bareheightsin the wildernessin the directionof the daughterof My people--not to winnowand not to cleanse,
Thussaysthe LORD:"Behold,I am going to arouseagainstBabylonAnd againstthe inhabitantsof Leb-kamaiThe spiritof a destroyer.
As I looked,behold,a stormwindwas comingfrom the north,a greatcloudwith fireflashingforthcontinually and a brightlightaroundit, and in its midstsomething like glowingmetalin the midstof the fire.
Therefore,thussaysthe LordGOD,"I will make a violentwindbreakout in My wrath.There will also be in My angera floodingrainand hailstonesto consume[it] in wrath.
"So I will kindlea fireon the wallof RabbahAnd it will consumeher citadelsAmid warcrieson the dayof battle,And a stormon the dayof tempest.
"but I scatteredthem with a stormwindamongallthe nationswhomthey have not known.Thus the landis desolatedbehindthem sothat noone wentbackand forth,for they madethe pleasantlanddesolate."
Then the LORDwill appearoverthem, And His arrowwill goforthlike lightning;And the LordGODwill blowthe trumpet,And will marchin the stormwindsof the south.
