Allof us growllike bears,And moansadlylike doves; We hopefor justice, but thereis none,For salvation,[but] it is farfrom us.
Those who followafter wickednessdrawnear; They are farfrom Your law.
Salvationis farfrom the wicked,For they do not seekYour statutes.
I am benumbedand badlycrushed;I groanbecauseof the agitationof my heart.

Your sonshave fainted,They lie[helpless] at the headof everystreet,Like an antelopein a net,Fullof the wrathof the LORD,The rebukeof your God.

They do not knowthe wayof peace,And thereis nojusticein their tracks; They have madetheir pathscrooked,Whoevertreadson them does not knowpeace.
Thereforejusticeis farfrom us, And righteousnessdoes not overtakeus; We hopefor light, but behold, darkness,For brightness, but we walkin gloom.
[We] waitedfor peace,but nogood[came]; For a timeof healing,but behold,terror!
Ohthat my headwere watersAnd my eyesa fountainof tears,That I might weepdayand nightFor the slainof the daughterof my people!
My soulhas beenrejectedfrom peace;I have forgottenhappiness.
Even when their survivorsescape, they will be on the mountainslike dovesof the valleys, allof them mourning, eachover his own iniquity.
And they do not cryto Me from their heartWhenthey wailon their beds; For the sakeof grainand newwinethey assemblethemselves, They turnawayfrom Me.
It is fixed:She is stripped, she is carriedaway,And her handmaidsare moaninglike the soundof doves,Beatingon their breasts.
Though Nineveh[was] like a poolof waterthroughouther days,Now they are fleeing;"Stop, stop,"But nooneturnsback.
