"Behold,I will dosomethingnew,Nowit will springforth; Will you not be awareof it? I will evenmakea roadwayin the wilderness,Riversin the desert.
He openedthe rockand waterflowedout; It ranin the dryplaces[like] a river.
Restoreour captivity,O LORD,As the streamsin the South.
"Behold,I will standbeforeyou thereon the rockat Horeb;and you shall strikethe rock, and waterwill comeout of it, that the peoplemay drink."And Mosesdidsoin the sightof the eldersof Israel.
On everyloftymountainand on everyhighhillthere will be streamsrunningwith wateron the dayof the greatslaughter, when the towersfall.
Eachwill be like a refugefrom the windAnd a shelterfrom the storm,Like streamsof waterin a drycountry,Like the shadeof a hugerockin a parchedland.
But therethe majestic[One], the LORD,will be for us A placeof rivers[and] widecanalsOn which noboatwith oarswill go,And on which nomightyshipwill pass--
The wildernessand the desertwill be glad,And the Arabahwill rejoiceand blossom;Like the crocus
"I will openriverson the bareheightsAnd springsin the midstof the valleys;I will makethe wildernessa poolof waterAnd the drylandfountainsof water.
"I will putthe cedarin the wilderness,The acaciaand the myrtleand the olivetree;I will placethe juniperin the desertTogetherwith the boxtreeand the cypress,
"Behold,the formerthingshave cometo pass,Now I declarenewthings;Beforethey springforthI proclaim[them] to you."
Therefore I declared[them] to you longago,Beforethey tookplaceI proclaimed[them] to you, So that you would not say,My idolhas donethem, And my gravenimageand my moltenimagehave commandedthem.'
"You have heard;lookat allthis. And you, will you not declareit? I proclaimto you newthingsfrom thistime,Even hiddenthingswhich you have not known.
"They will not hungeror thirst,Norwill the scorchingheator sunstrikethem down; For He who hascompassionon them will leadthem And will guidethem to springsof water.
Indeed, the LORDwill comfortZion; He will comfortallher wasteplaces. And her wildernessHe will makelike Eden,And her desertlike the gardenof the LORD;Joyand gladnesswill be foundin her, Thanksgivingand soundof a melody.
"Thereforebehold,[the] daysare coming,"declaresthe LORD,"when they will nolongersay,'As the LORDlives, whobroughtup the sonsof Israelfrom the landof Egypt,'
"Howlongwill you gohereand there,O faithlessdaughter? For the LORDhas createda newthingin the earth--A womanwill encompassa man."
"With weepingthey will come,And by supplicationI will leadthem; I will make them walkby streamsof waters,On a straightpathin which they will not stumble; For I ama fatherto Israel,And Ephraimis My firstborn."
Then Mosesliftedup his handand struckthe rocktwicewith his rod;and watercameforthabundantly, and the congregationand their beastsdrank.
Thereforeifanyoneis in Christ,[he is] a newcreature;the old thingspassed away;behold, new thingshave come.
"He ledyou through the greatand terriblewilderness,[with its] fieryserpentsand scorpionsand thirstygroundwheretherewas nowater; He broughtwaterfor you out of the rockof flint.
And He who sitson the thronesaid,"Behold,I am makingall thingsnew."And He said,"Write, for thesewordsare faithfuland true."
