And the LORDwas with him; whereverhe wenthe prospered.And he rebelledagainst the kingof Assyriaand did not servehim.
"Is not your fear[of God] your confidence,And the integrityof your waysyour hope?
"O GODthe Lord,the strengthof my salvation,You have coveredmy headin the dayof battle.
The LORDis their strength,And He is a savingdefenseto His anointed.
And in Your majestyrideon victoriously,For the causeof truthand meekness[and] righteousness;Let Your righthandteachYou awesomethings.
The crownof the wiseis their riches,[But] the follyof foolsis foolishness.
In the fearof the LORDthere is strongconfidence,And his childrenwill haverefuge.
The fearof the LORDis a fountainof life,That one may avoidthe snaresof death.
Betteris a littlewith the fearof the LORDThangreattreasureand turmoilwith it.
The fearof the LORD[leads] to life,So that one may sleepsatisfied,untouchedby evil.
Thenyou will discernthe fearof the LORDAnd discoverthe knowledgeof God.
By the transgressionof a landmanyare its princes,But by a manof understanding[and] knowledge,soit endures.
The kinggivesstabilityto the landby justice,But a manwhotakesbribesoverthrowsit.
For wisdomis protection[just as] moneyis protection,But the advantageof knowledgeis that wisdompreservesthe livesof its possessors.
Wisdomstrengthensa wisemanmorethantenrulerswhoare in a city.
They will not hurtor destroyin allMy holymountain,For the earthwill be fullof the knowledgeof the LORDAs the waterscoverthe sea.
In that daythissongwill be sungin the landof Judah:"We have a strongcity;He setsup wallsand rampartsfor security.
And the workof righteousnesswill be peace,And the serviceof righteousness,quietnessand confidenceforever.
Then my peoplewill livein a peacefulhabitation,And in securedwellingsand in undisturbedrestingplaces;
Lookupon Zion,the cityof our appointedfeasts;Your eyeswill seeJerusalem,an undisturbedhabitation,A tentwhich will not be folded;Its stakeswill neverbe pulledup, Noranyof its cordsbe tornapart.
Israelhas been savedby the LORDWith an everlastingsalvation;You will not be putto shameor humiliatedTo alleternity.
"The exilewill soonbe setfree,and will not diein the dungeon,norwill his breadbe lacking.
"Liftup your eyesto the sky,Then lookto the earthbeneath;For the skywill vanishlike smoke,And the earthwill wearout like a garmentAnd its inhabitantswill diein likemanner;But My salvationwill be forever,And My righteousnesswill not wane.
"They will not teachagain,eachmanhis neighborand eachmanhis brother,saying,'Knowthe LORD,'for they will allknowMe, from the leastof them to the greatestof them," declaresthe LORD,"for I will forgivetheir iniquity,and their sinI will remembernomore."
"For the earthwill be filledWith the knowledgeof the gloryof the LORD,As the waterscoverthe sea.
"But seekfirstHis kingdomand His righteousness,and allthese thingswill be addedto you.
as sorrowfulyetalwaysrejoicing,as pooryetmakingmanyrich,as havingnothingyetpossessingall things.
for bodilydisciplineis only of littleprofit,but godlinessis profitablefor all things,since it holdspromisefor the presentlifeand [also] for the [life] to come.
But godliness[actually] is a meansof greatgainwhen accompaniedby contentment.
