For thisis a rebelliouspeople,false~sons,Sonswho refuseto listenTo the instructionof the LORD;
The LORDspoketo Manassehand his people,but they paidnoattention.
And not be like their fathers,A stubbornand rebelliousgeneration,A generationthat did not prepareits heartAnd whose spiritwas not faithfulto God.
"So I gavethem overto the stubbornnessof their heart,To walkin their own devices.
He who turnsawayhis earfrom listeningto the law,Evenhis prayeris an abomination.
Hearthe wordof the LORD,You rulersof Sodom;Giveearto the instructionof our God,You peopleof Gomorrah.
Listen,O heavens,and hear,O earth;For the LORDspeaks,"SonsI have rearedand broughtup, But they have revoltedagainst Me.
Alas,sinfulnation,Peopleweigheddownwith iniquity,Offspringof evildoers,Sonswho actcorruptly!They have abandonedthe LORD,They have despisedthe HolyOneof Israel,They have turnedawayfrom Him.
Woeto Assyria,the rodof My angerAnd the staffin whose handsis My indignation,
I sendit against a godlessnationAnd commissionit againstthe peopleof My furyTo capturebootyand to seizeplunder,And to tramplethem downlike mudin the streets.
The earthis also pollutedby its inhabitants,for they transgressedlaws,violatedstatutes,brokethe everlastingcovenant.
Becauseyou have said,"We have madea covenantwith death,And with Sheolwe have madea pact.The overwhelmingscourgewill not reachus whenit passesby, For we have madefalsehoodour refugeand we have concealedourselves with deception."
"Woeto the rebelliouschildren,"declaresthe LORD,"Who executea plan,but not Mine,And makean alliance,but not of My Spirit,In orderto addsinto sin;
"BecauseI knowthat you are obstinate,And your neckis an ironsinewAnd your foreheadbronze,
Therefore,as a tongueof fireconsumesstubbleAnd drygrasscollapsesinto the flame,So their rootwill becomelike rotand their blossomblowawayas dust;For they have rejectedthe lawof the LORDof hostsAnd despisedthe wordof the HolyOneof Israel.
For He said,"Surely,they are My people,Sonswho will not dealfalsely."So He becametheir Savior.
"I have spreadout My handsalldaylong to a rebelliouspeople,Who walk[in] the waywhich is not good,followingtheir own thoughts,
"The wordsof Jonadabthe sonof Rechab,whichhe commandedhis sonsnot to drinkwine,are observed.So they do not drink[wine] to thisday,for they have obeyedtheir father'scommand.But I have spokento you againand again;yet you have not listenedto Me.
"And now,becauseyou have doneallthesethings,"declaresthe LORD,"and I spoketo you, risingup earlyand speaking,but you did not hear,and I calledyou but you did not answer,
"You shall sayto them, 'Thisis the nationthat did not obeythe voiceof the LORDtheir Godor acceptcorrection;truthhas perishedand has been cutofffrom their mouth.
"They bendtheir tongue[like] their bow;Liesand not truthprevailin the land;For they proceedfrom evilto evil,And they do not knowMe," declaresthe LORD.
"Speaka parableto the rebellioushouseand sayto them, 'Thussaysthe LordGOD,"Puton the pot,put[it] on and alsopourwaterin it;
[There is] swearing,deception,murder,stealingand adultery.They employviolence,so that bloodshedfollowsbloodshed.
She heedednovoice,She acceptednoinstruction.She did not trustin the LORD,She did not drawnearto her God.
"You men who are stiff-neckedand uncircumcisedin heartand earsare alwaysresistingthe HolySpirit;you are doing justas your fathersdid.
"Then He said,'I will hideMy facefrom them, I will seewhattheir end[shall be]; For they are a perversegeneration,Sonsin whom is nofaithfulness.
"But for the cowardlyand unbelievingand abominableand murderersand immoral personsand sorcerersand idolatersand allliars,their part[will be] in the lakethat burnswith fireand brimstone,whichis the seconddeath."
Outsideare the dogsand the sorcerersand the immoral personsand the murderersand the idolaters,and everyonewho lovesand practiceslying.
