But he hesitated.So the menseizedhis handand the handof his wifeand the handsof his twodaughters,for the compassionof the LORD[was] upon him; and they broughthim out, and puthim outsidethe city.
Whenmorningdawned,the angelsurgedLot,saying,"Up, takeyour wifeand your twodaughterswho are here,oryou will be sweptawayin the punishmentof the city."
"For ifwe had not delayed,surelyby nowwe could have returnedtwice."
O givethanksto the LORD,for [He is] good;For His lovingkindnessis everlasting.
Just as a fatherhascompassionon [his] children,So the LORDhascompassionon those who fearHim.

Manyare the sorrowsof the wicked,But he who trustsin the LORD,lovingkindnessshall surroundhim.
Behold,the eyeof the LORDis on those who fearHim, On those who hopefor His lovingkindness,
To delivertheir soulfrom deathAnd to keepthem alivein famine.
Whois the manwho desireslifeAnd loves[length of] daysthat he may seegood?
But You, O Lord,are a Godmercifuland gracious,Slowto angerand abundantin lovingkindnessand truth.
For You, Lord,are good,and readyto forgive,And abundantin lovingkindnessto allwho callupon You.
Then the LORDpassedby in frontof him and proclaimed,"The LORD,the LORDGod,compassionateand gracious,slowto anger,and aboundingin lovingkindnessand truth;
who keepslovingkindnessfor thousands,who forgivesiniquity,transgressionand sin;yet He will by nomeansleave[the guilty] unpunished,visitingthe iniquityof fatherson the childrenand on the grandchildrento the thirdand fourthgenerations."
In alltheir afflictionHe was afflicted,And the angelof His presencesavedthem; In His loveand in His mercyHe redeemedthem, And He liftedthem and carriedthem allthe daysof old.
The LORD'Slovingkindnessesindeednevercease,For His compassionsneverfail.
The LORDis slowto angerand abundantin lovingkindness,forgivinginiquityand transgression;but He will by nomeansclear[the guilty], visitingthe iniquityof the fatherson the childrento the thirdand the fourth[generations].'
"But the tax collector,standingsome distance away,was evenunwillingto liftup his eyesto heaven,but was beatinghis breast,saying,'God,be mercifulto me, the sinner!'
"No onecancometo Me unlessthe Fatherwho sentMe drawshim; and I will raisehim up on the lastday.
So thenHe has mercyon whomHe desires,and He hardenswhomHe desires.
Blessed[be] the Godand Fatherof our LordJesusChrist,the Fatherof merciesand Godof allcomfort,
"For the LORDyour Godis a compassionateGod;He will not failyou nordestroyyou norforgetthe covenantwith your fatherswhichHe sworeto them.
You shall rememberthat you were a slavein the landof Egypt,and the LORDyour Godbroughtyou out of thereby a mightyhandand by an outstretchedarm;thereforethe LORDyour Godcommandedyou to observethe sabbathday.
then you shall sayto your son,'We were slavesto Pharaohin Egypt,and the LORDbroughtus from Egyptwith a mightyhand.
but becausethe LORDlovedyou and keptthe oathwhichHe sworeto your forefathers,the LORDbroughtyou out by a mightyhandand redeemedyou from the houseof slavery,from the handof Pharaohkingof Egypt.
He savedus, not on the basisof deedswhichwe have donein righteousness,but accordingto His mercy,by the washingof regenerationand renewingby the HolySpirit,
Joshuasaidto the twomenwho had spiedout the land,"Gointo the harlot'shouseand bringthe womanand allshe has out of there,as you have swornto her."
and [if] He rescuedrighteousLot,oppressedby the sensualconductof unprincipled men
[then] the Lordknows howto rescuethe godlyfrom temptation,and to keepthe unrighteousunder punishmentfor the dayof judgment,
