Now Jethro,the priestof Midian,Moses'father-in-law,heardof allthat Godhad donefor Mosesand for IsraelHis people,howthe LORDhad broughtIsraelout of Egypt.
And He broughtforthHis peoplewith joy,His chosenoneswith a joyfulshout.
RememberHis wonderswhichHe has done,His marvelsand the judgmentsuttered by His mouth,
Whocan speakof the mightydeedsof the LORD,Or can showforth allHis praise?
My soulwill makeits boastin the LORD;The humblewill hearit and rejoice.
O God,we have heardwith our ears,Our fathershave toldus The workthat You didin their days,In the daysof old.
We will not concealthem from their children,But tellto the generationto comethe praisesof the LORD,And His strengthand His wondrousworksthat He has done.
Now the priestof Midianhad sevendaughters;and they cameto drawwaterand filledthe troughsto watertheir father'sflock.
When they cameto Reueltheir father,he said,"Whyhave you come[back] so soontoday?"
Moseswas willingto dwellwith the man,and he gavehis daughterZipporahto Moses.
Now Moseswas pasturingthe flockof Jethrohis father-in-law,the priestof Midian;and he ledthe flockto the westsideof the wildernessand cameto Horeb,the mountainof God.
Then Mosesdepartedand returnedto Jethrohis father-in-lawand saidto him, "Please,let me go,that I may returnto my brethrenwhoare in Egypt,and seeif they are stillalive."And Jethrosaidto Moses,"Goin peace."
"Say,therefore,to the sonsof Israel,I am the LORD,and I will bringyou out from underthe burdensof the Egyptians,and I will deliveryou from their bondage.I will also redeemyou with an outstretchedarmand with greatjudgments.
It will be to Me a nameof joy,praiseand glorybefore allthe nationsof the earthwhichwill hearof allthe goodthat I dofor them, and they will fearand tremblebecauseof allthe goodand allthe peacethat I makefor it.'
"Thussaysthe LORDof hosts,'In thosedaystenmenfrom allthe nationswill graspthe garmentof a Jew,saying,"Let us gowith you, for we have heardthat Godis with you."'"
Then Mosessaidto Hobabthe sonof Reuelthe Midianite,Moses'father-in-law,"We are settingout to the placeof whichthe LORDsaid,I will giveit to you'; comewith us and we will doyou good,for the LORDhas promisedgoodconcerningIsrael."
When they had arrivedand gatheredthe churchtogether,they [began] to reportall thingsthat Godhad donewith them and howHe had openeda doorof faithto the Gentiles.
Allthe peoplekept silent,and they were listeningto Barnabasand Paulas they were relatingwhatsignsand wondersGodhad donethroughthem amongthe Gentiles.
For I will not presumeto speakof anythingexceptwhatChristhas accomplishedthroughme, resultingin the obedienceof the Gentilesby wordand deed,
"For we have heardhowthe LORDdriedup the waterof the RedSeabeforeyou when you cameout of Egypt,and whatyou didto the twokingsof the Amoriteswhowere beyondthe Jordan,to Sihonand Og,whomyou utterlydestroyed.
They saidto him, "Your servantshave comefrom a veryfarcountrybecause of the fameof the LORDyour God;for we have heardthe reportof Him and allthat He didin Egypt,
The descendantsof the Kenite,Moses'father-in-law,wentup from the cityof palmswith the sonsof Judah,to the wildernessof Judahwhichis in the southof Arad;and they wentand livedwith the people.
Now Heberthe Kenitehad separatedhimself from the Kenites,from the sonsof Hobabthe father-in-lawof Moses,and had pitchedhis tentas faraway as the oakin Zaanannim,whichis nearKedesh.
