"Thereforesayto the houseof Israel,'Thussaysthe LordGOD,"It is not for your sake,O houseof Israel,that I am about to act,but for My holyname,whichyou have profanedamong the nationswhereyou went.
Thereforethussaysthe LordGOD,"NowI will restorethe fortunesof Jacoband havemercyon the wholehouseof Israel;and I will be jealousfor My holyname.
"O my God,inclineYour earand hear!OpenYour eyesand seeour desolationsand the citywhichis calledby Your name;for we are not presentingour supplicationsbeforeYou on accountof any meritsof our own, but on accountof Your greatcompassion.
And it cameabout, whenit had finishedeatingthe vegetationof the land,that I said,"LordGOD,pleasepardon!Howcan Jacobstand,For he is small?"
"Pardon,I pray,the iniquityof thispeopleaccording to the greatnessof Your lovingkindness,justas You also have forgiventhispeople,from Egypteven untilnow."
"So they shall invokeMy nameon the sonsof Israel,and I [then] will blessthem."

to the endthat we who were the first to hopein Christwould be to the praiseof His glory.
to the praiseof the gloryof His grace,whichHe freely bestowedon us in the Beloved.
sothat the manifoldwisdomof Godmight nowbe made knownthroughthe churchto the rulersand the authoritiesin the heavenly[places].
