"Becauseof the grandeurwhichHe bestowedon him, allthe peoples,nationsand [men of every] languagefearedand trembledbeforehim; whomeverhe wishedhe killedand whomeverhe wishedhe sparedalive;and whomeverhe wishedhe elevatedand whomeverhe wishedhe humbled.
"But whoeverdoes not falldownand worshipshall immediatelybe castinto the midstof a furnaceof blazingfire."
Then the heraldloudlyproclaimed:"To you the commandis given,O peoples,nationsand [men of every] language,
Everypersonis to be in subjectionto the governingauthorities.For there is noauthorityexceptfrom God,and thosewhich existare establishedby God.
Jesusanswered,"You would havenoauthorityoverMe, unlessit had beengivenyou from above;for thisreasonhe who deliveredMe to you has[the] greatersin."
"Furthermore,winebetraysthe haughtyman,So that he does not stayat home.He enlargeshis appetitelike Sheol,And he is like death,neversatisfied.He also gathersto himself allnationsAnd collectsto himself allpeoples.
it is you, O king;for you have becomegreatand grownstrong,and your majestyhas becomegreatand reachedto the skyand your dominionto the endof the earth.
"Therefore I makea decreethat anypeople,nationor tonguethat speaksanything offensiveagainstthe Godof Shadrach,Meshachand Abed-negoshall be tornlimbfrom limb and their housesreducedto a rubbishheap,inasmuchas thereis noothergodwhois ableto deliverin thisway."
The furyof a kingis [like] messengersof death,But a wisemanwill appeaseit.
And they sanga newsong,saying,"Worthyare You to takethe bookand to breakits seals;for You were slain,and purchasedfor Godwith Your blood[men] from everytribeand tongueand peopleand nation.
and he spokekindlyto him and sethis throneabovethe throneof the kingswho[were] with him in Babylon.
therefore I will giveit into the handof a despotof the nations;he will thoroughlydealwith it. According to its wickednessI have drivenit away.
"This sentenceis by the decreeof the [angelic] watchersAnd the decisionis a commandof the holyones,In orderthat the livingmay knowThat the MostHighis rulerover the realmof mankind,And bestowsit on whomHe wishesAnd setsoverit the lowliestof men."
"And a mightykingwill arise,and he will rulewith greatauthorityand doas he pleases.
"But he who comesagainsthim will doas he pleases,and noonewill [be able to] withstandhim; he will also stay[for a time] in the BeautifulLand,with destructionin his hand.
"Then the kingwill doas he pleases,and he will exaltand magnifyhimself aboveeverygodand will speakmonstrousthingsagainstthe Godof gods;and he will prosperuntilthe indignationis finished,for that which is decreedwill be done.
"Do not be in a hurryto leavehim. Do not joinin an evilmatter,for he will dowhateverhe pleases."
"ThenDaniel,whosenameis Belteshazzar,was appalledfor a whileas his thoughtsalarmedhim. The kingrespondedand said,'Belteshazzar,do not let the dreamor its interpretationalarmyou.' Belteshazzarreplied,My lord,[if only] the dreamapplied to those who hateyou and its interpretationto your adversaries!
"When the multitudeis carriedaway, his heartwill be liftedup, and he will cause tensof thousandsto fall;yet he will not prevail.
