Nowthe apostlesand the brethrenwho were throughoutJudeaheardthat the Gentilesalsohad receivedthe wordof God.
"The sceptershall not departfrom Judah,Northe ruler'sstafffrom betweenhis feet,UntilShilohcomes,And to him [shall be] the obedienceof the peoples.
Allthe endsof the earthwill rememberand turnto the LORD,And allthe familiesof the nationswill worshipbeforeYou.
Then in that dayThe nationswill resortto the rootof Jesse,Whowill standas a signalfor the peoples;And His restingplacewill be glorious.
Untilthe Spiritis pouredout upon us from on high,And the wildernessbecomesa fertilefield,And the fertilefieldis consideredas a forest.
"Behold,My Servant,whom I uphold;My chosenone [in whom] My souldelights.I have putMy Spiritupon Him; He will bringforthjusticeto the nations.
"I am the LORD,I have calledyou in righteousness,I will also holdyou by the handand watchover you, And I will appointyou as a covenantto the people,As a lightto the nations,
He says,"It is toosmalla thingthat You should be My ServantTo raiseup the tribesof Jacoband to restorethe preservedones of Israel;I will also makeYou a lightof the nationsSo that My salvationmay reachto the endof the earth."
The LORDhas baredHis holyarmIn the sightof allthe nations,That allthe endsof the earthmay seeThe salvationof our God.
"Nationswill cometo your light,And kingsto the brightnessof your rising.
The nationswill seeyour righteousness,And allkingsyour glory;And you will be calledby a newnameWhichthe mouthof the LORDwill designate.
O LORD,my strengthand my stronghold,And my refugein the dayof distress,To You the nationswill comeFrom the endsof the earthand say,"Our fathershave inheritednothingbut falsehood,Futilityand thingsof noprofit."
"I will sowher for Myself in the land.I will also havecompassionon her who had not obtainedcompassion,And I will sayto those who were not My people,'You are My people!'And they will say,'[You are] my God!'"
Then the remnantof JacobWill be amongmanypeoplesLike dewfrom the LORD,Like showerson vegetationWhichdo not waitfor manOr delayfor the sonsof men.
The LORDwill be terrifyingto them, for He will starveallthe godsof the earth;and allthe coastlandsof the nationswill bowdownto Him, everyonefrom his [own] place.
"For thenI will giveto the peoplespurifiedlips,That allof them may callon the nameof the LORD,To serveHim shoulderto shoulder.
"Manynationswill jointhemselves to the LORDin that dayand will becomeMy people.Then I will dwellin your midst,and you will knowthat the LORDof hostshas sentMe to you.
"For from the risingof the sunevento its setting,My name[will be] greatamong the nations,and in everyplaceincenseis going to be offeredto My name,and a grain offering[that is] pure;for My name[will be] greatamong the nations,"saysthe LORDof hosts.
Nowafter Jesuswas bornin Bethlehemof Judeain the daysof Herodthe king,magifrom the eastarrivedin Jerusalem,saying,
"I sayto you that manywill comefrom eastand west,and recline[at the table] with Abraham,Isaacand Jacobin the kingdomof heaven;
Enteringthe tomb,they sawa young mansittingat the right,wearinga whiterobe;and they were amazed.
A LIGHTOF REVELATIONTO THE GENTILES,And the gloryof Your peopleIsrael."
At thistimePeterstoodup in the midstof the brethren(a gatheringof aboutone hundredand twentypersonswas there together),and said,
And in the proportionthat anyof the discipleshad means,eachof them determinedto send[a contribution] for the reliefof the brethrenlivingin Judea.
When they had arrivedand gatheredthe churchtogether,they [began] to reportall thingsthat Godhad donewith them and howHe had openeda doorof faithto the Gentiles.
Therefore,being sent on their wayby the church,they were passing throughbothPhoeniciaand Samaria,describing in detailthe conversionof the Gentiles,and were bringinggreatjoyto allthe brethren.
And the brethren,when they heardaboutus, camefrom thereas faras the Marketof Appiusand ThreeInnsto meetus; and when Paulsawthem, he thankedGodand tookcourage.
