When the angelstretchedout his handtoward Jerusalemto destroyit, the LORDrelentedfrom the calamityand saidto the angelwho destroyedthe people,"It is enough!Nowrelaxyour hand!"And the angelof the LORDwas by the threshingfloorof Araunahthe Jebusite.
and the Jebusiteand the Amoriteand the Girgashite
The LORDwas sorrythat He had mademanon the earth,and He was grievedin His heart.
So Gadcameto Davidthat dayand saidto him, "Goup, erectan altarto the LORDon the threshingfloorof Araunahthe Jebusite."
Davidsaidon that day,"Whoeverwould strikethe Jebusites,let him reachthe lameand the blind,who are hatedby David'ssoul,through the watertunnel."Thereforethey say,"The blindor the lameshall not comeinto the house."
But he himselfwenta day'sjourneyinto the wilderness,and cameand satdownundera junipertree;and he requestedfor himselfthat he might die,and said,"It is enough;now,O LORD,takemy life,for I am not betterthanmy fathers."
Then it happenedthat nightthat the angelof the LORDwentout and struck185000in the campof the Assyrians;and when men roseearlyin the morning,behold,allof them were dead.
and the Jebusites,the Amorites,the Girgashites,
Then Solomonbeganto buildthe houseof the LORDin Jerusalemon MountMoriah,where[the LORD] had appearedto his fatherDavid,at the placethat Davidhad preparedon the threshingfloorof Ornanthe Jebusite.
And the LORDsentan angelwho destroyedeverymightywarrior,commanderand officerin the campof the kingof Assyria.So he returnedin shameto his own land.And when he had enteredthe templeof his god,someof his ownchildrenkilledhim therewith the sword.
For the LORDwill judgeHis peopleAnd will havecompassionon His servants.
Let their waybe darkand slippery,With the angelof the LORDpursuingthem.
But He, being compassionate,forgave[their] iniquityand did not destroy[them]; And oftenHe restrainedHis angerAnd did not arouseallHis wrath.
Do return,O LORD;howlong[will it be]? And be sorryfor Your servants.
The bloodshall be a signfor you on the houseswhereyou live; and when I seethe bloodI will passoveryou, and noplaguewill befallyou to destroy[you] when I strikethe landof Egypt.
"For the LORDwill passthroughto smitethe Egyptians;and when He seesthe bloodon the linteland on the twodoorposts,the LORDwill passoverthe doorand will not allowthe destroyerto comein to your housesto smite[you].
So the LORDchangedHis mindaboutthe harmwhichHe saidHe would doto His people.
"Makesupplicationto the LORD,for there has been enoughof God'sthunderand hail;and I will letyou go,and you shall staynolonger."
You contendedwith them by banishingthem, by drivingthem away.With His fiercewindHe has expelled[them] on the dayof the eastwind.
"For I will not contendforever,Norwill I alwaysbe angry;For the spiritwould growfaintbeforeMe, And the breath[of those whom] I have made.
"Did Hezekiahkingof Judahand allJudahputhim to death?Did he not fearthe LORDand entreatthe favorof the LORD,and the LORDchangedHis mindaboutthe misfortunewhichHe had pronouncedagainstthem? But we are committinga greatevilagainstourselves."
Ifyou will indeedstayin thisland,then I will buildyou up and not tearyou down,and I will plantyou and not uprootyou; for I will relentconcerningthe calamitythat I have inflictedon you.
The LORDchangedHis mindaboutthis."It shall not be," saidthe LORD.

LORD,I have heardthe reportabout You [and] I fear.O LORD,reviveYour workin the midstof the years,In the midstof the yearsmakeit known;In wrathremembermercy.
And I will removetheir bloodfrom their mouthAnd their detestablethingsfrom betweentheir teeth.Then they alsowill be a remnantfor our God,And be like a clanin Judah,And Ekronlike a Jebusite.
And He camethe third time,and saidto them, "Are you stillsleepingand resting?It is enough;the hourhas come;behold,the Sonof Manis being betrayedinto the handsof sinners.
And immediatelyan angelof the Lordstruckhim becausehe did not giveGodthe glory,and he was eaten by wormsand died.
Norgrumble,as someof them did,and were destroyedby the destroyer.
Sufficientfor such a oneis thispunishmentwhich [was] [inflicted] by the majority,
Now as for the Jebusites,the inhabitantsof Jerusalem,the sonsof Judahcouldnot drivethem out; so the Jebusiteslivewith the sonsof Judahat Jerusalemuntilthisday.
But the sonsof Benjamindid not driveout the Jebusiteswho livedin Jerusalem;so the Jebusiteshave livedwith the sonsof Benjaminin Jerusalemto thisday.
When they [were] nearJebus,the daywas almostgone;and the servantsaidto his master,"Pleasecome,and let us turnasideinto thiscityof the Jebusitesand spendthe nightin it."
"I regretthat I have madeSaulking,for he has turnedbackfrom followingMe and has not carriedout My commands."And Samuelwas distressedand criedout to the LORDallnight.
