Now when Davidhad passeda littlebeyondthe summit,behold,Zibathe servantof Mephiboshethmethim with a coupleof saddleddonkeys,and on them [were] twohundredloaves of bread,a hundredclustersof raisins,a hundredsummerfruits,and a jugof wine.
And Davidwentup the ascentof the [Mount of] Olives,and weptas he went,and his headwas coveredand he walkedbarefoot.Then allthe peoplewhowere with him eachcoveredhis headand wentup weepingas they went.
It happenedas Davidwas comingto the summit,whereGodwas worshiped,that behold,Hushaithe Architemethim with his coattornand duston his head.
There were a thousandmenof Benjaminwith him, with Zibathe servantof the houseof Saul,and his fifteensonsand his twentyservantswith him; and they rushedto the Jordanbeforethe king.
Now Barzillaiwas veryold,being eightyyearsold;and he had sustainedthe kingwhile he stayedat Mahanaim,for he was a verygreatman.
Moreover those who were nearto them, [even] as faras Issacharand Zebulunand Naphtali,broughtfoodon donkeys,camels,mulesand on oxen,greatquantitiesof flourcakes,figcakesand bunchesof raisins,wine,oil,oxenand sheep.There was joyindeedin Israel.
A man'sgiftmakesroomfor him And bringshim beforegreatmen.
"Now as for me, behold,I am going to stayat Mizpahto stand[for you] beforethe Chaldeanswhocometo us; but as for you, gatherin wineand summerfruitand oiland put[them] in your [storage] vessels,and livein your citiesthat you have takenover."
Then allthe Jewsreturnedfrom allthe placesto whichthey had been drivenawayand cameto the landof Judah,to Gedaliahat Mizpah,and gatheredin wineand summerfruitin greatabundance.
Thusthe LordGODshowedme, and behold,[there was] a basketof summerfruit.
Woeis me! For I amLike the fruitpickers,like the grapegatherers.Thereis not a clusterof grapes to eat,[Or] a first-ripefig[which] I crave.
"Then you will goon furtherfrom there,and you will comeas faras the oakof Tabor,and therethreemengoingup to Godat Bethelwill meetyou, onecarryingthreeyounggoats,anothercarryingthreeloavesof bread,and anothercarryinga jugof wine;
Jessetooka donkey[loaded with] breadand a jugof wineand a younggoat,and sent[them] to Saulby Davidhis son.
Then Abigailhurriedand tooktwo hundred[loaves] of breadand twojugsof wineand fivesheepalready preparedand fivemeasuresof roastedgrainand a hundredclustersof raisinsand two hundredcakesof figs,and loaded[them] on donkeys.
