When she cameto the manof Godto the hill,she caughtholdof his feet.And Gehazicamenearto pushher away;but the manof Godsaid,"Lether alone,for her soulis troubledwithin her; and the LORDhas hiddenit from me and has not toldme."
The LORDsaid,"Shall I hidefrom AbrahamwhatI am about to do,
Nathansaidto the king,"Go,doallthat is in your mind,for the LORDis with you."
So she wentand cameto the manof Godto MountCarmel.When the manof Godsawher at a distance,he saidto Gehazihis servant,"Behold,thereis the Shunammite.
"Pleaserunnowto meether and sayto her, 'Is it wellwith you? Is it wellwith your husband?Is it wellwith the child?'"And she answered,"It is well."
Oneof his servantssaid,"No,my lord,O king;but Elisha,the prophetwhois in Israel,tellsthe kingof Israelthe wordsthat you speakin your bedroom."
"I loathemy own life;I will givefullventto my complaint;I will speakin the bitternessof my soul.
The heartknowsits ownbitterness,And a strangerdoes not shareits joy.
The spiritof a mancan endurehis sickness,But [as for] a brokenspiritwhocan bearit?
Surelythe LordGODdoesnothingUnlessHe revealsHis secretcounselTo His servantsthe prophets.
But He did not answerher a word.And His disciplescameand imploredHim, saying,"Send her away,becauseshe keeps shoutingat us."
The crowdsternly toldthem to be quiet,but they criedout all the more,"Lord,Sonof David,have mercyon us!"
And behold,Jesusmetthem and greetedthem. And they cameup and took holdof His feetand worshipedHim.
And they were bringingchildrento Him sothat He might touchthem; but the disciplesrebukedthem.
But Jesussaid,"Let her alone;whydo you botherher? She has donea gooddeedto Me.
and standingbehind[Him] at His feet,weeping,she beganto wetHis feetwith her tears,and kept wipingthem with the hairof her head,and kissingHis feetand anointingthem with the perfume.
"No longerdo I callyou slaves,for the slavedoes not knowwhathis masteris doing;but I have calledyou friends,for all thingsthat I have heardfrom My FatherI have made knownto you.
At thispointHis disciplescame,and they were amazedthat He had been speakingwith a woman,yetno onesaid,"Whatdo You seek?"or,"Whydo You speakwith her?"
She, greatlydistressed,prayedto the LORDand weptbitterly.
