In the ninthyearof Hoshea,the kingof AssyriacapturedSamariaand carriedIsraelawayinto exileto Assyria,and settledthem in Halahand Habor,[on] the riverof Gozan,and in the citiesof the Medes.
Behold,you have heardwhatthe kingsof Assyriahave doneto allthe lands,destroyingthem completely.So will you be spared?

"However, You borewith them for manyyears,And admonishedthem by Your SpiritthroughYour prophets,Yet they would not giveear.Therefore You gavethem into the handof the peoplesof the lands.
Shall I not doto Jerusalemand her imagesJustas I have doneto Samariaand her idols?"
Woeto Assyria,the rodof My angerAnd the staffin whose handsis My indignation,

Did the godsof those nationswhichmy fathershave destroyeddeliverthem, [even] Gozanand Haranand Rezephand the sonsof Edenwho[were] in Telassar?
