But the restfledto Aphekinto the city,and the wallfellon 27,000menwho were left.And Ben-hadadfledand cameinto the cityinto an innerchamber.
For the battletherewas spreadoverthe wholecountryside,and the forestdevouredmorepeoplethat daythanthe sworddevoured.
Ben-hadadsentto him and said,"May the godsdosoto me and morealso,ifthe dustof Samariawill sufficefor handfulsfor allthe peoplewhofollowme."
They killedeachhis man;and the Arameansfledand Israelpursuedthem, and Ben-hadadkingof Aramescapedon a horsewith horsemen.
At the turnof the year,Ben-hadadmusteredthe Arameansand wentup to Aphekto fightagainstIsrael.
So they campedoneoveragainstthe othersevendays.And on the seventhdaythe battlewas joined,and the sonsof Israelkilled[of] the Arameans100000footsoldiersin oneday.
Micaiahsaid,"Behold,you shall seeon that daywhenyou enteran innerroomto hideyourself."
Then they wentin to offersacrificesand burntofferings.Now Jehuhad stationedfor himself eightymenoutside,and he had said,"The onewhopermits anyof the menwhomI bringinto your handsto escapeshall give up his lifein exchange."
"When you arrivethere,searchout Jehuthe sonof Jehoshaphatthe sonof Nimshi,and goin and bid him arisefrom amonghis brothers,and bringhim to an innerroom.
